Josh & Anjely

April 11, 2026 • Houston, Texas

Her Story:

Josh and I first met at the 2015 KCYLNA Summit in New Jersey. We were actually in the same icebreaker group but probably said like 10 words to each other the entire summit. I left summit knowing he was 1. from houston, 2. tall, and 3. Deepika Padukone was his #WCW (IYKYK). We ended up following each other on instagram and snapchat but much like he is today, he barely used social media back then.

Then comes the KCCNA Houston convention in summer of 2016. Josh was the first person I "knew" at one of the hotel room parties and we ended up spending the entire convention in the same friend group. I got to really know the kind, funny, and wholesome person he was. My family was planning on staying a couple of days extra in houston so *I* asked for his number so we could hangout once convention ended. We ended up hanging out in town center which now fast forward 10 years is where we are getting married!

From that day forward, our friendship blossomed from navigating the last summer before starting college to the first semester of college. Texts turned to Facetimes and in those couple of months I knew I found my person. We went from two 18 years olds figuring out what decor we wanted for our college dorms to two 27 year olds figuring out the decor for our wedding venue . I can't wait to marry you Josh!

His story:

This is a story 9+ years in the making, so let’s start it off in the beginning. I first met Anjely when we were both High School seniors at the KCYL summit New York. Honestly, we didn’t talk much there - she was a cool LA girl and I was just a chill Houston guy trying to make some friends. We only really had one conversation, and I don’t remember much of what was said, but what I do know is that I was living in her head rent free from then on out.

We didn’t keep in touch much after, but we ran into each other again at the convention in Houston that next summer. Thinking back, I don’t think we left each other’s side for the whole four days. Still just as friends but as we left I had the idea that maybe there could be something more…

Too bad she was going to be starting school in Phoenix in the fall, and I would be moving to Dallas. Fortunately for us, the distance didn’t seem to be too much of an issue. As we started school, we still kept in touch, texting everyday (I was trying anything to keep the convo going LOL). One day I accidentally hit the FaceTime button on our chat (I promise on everything it was an accident). I ended it quickly, but she saw the missed call and got sooo excited that we made a plan to actually FaceTime later that week. That night we got on FaceTime at ~10pm and stayed on until 7am the next morning (I slept through every single one of my classes oops).

From there the FaceTimes went from weekly to daily and we went from just friends to dating a few months later. That was almost 9 years ago and if you ask anyone that knows me, the only constants in my life since then have been Anjely, and my phone being dead from being on FaceTime with her. It’s hard to put 9 years of love into a couple paragraphs but I hope you guys all get to see and experience it when you’re celebrating with us.
