Our Wedding

Josh: "Kate transferred from somewhere milesssssss east of Manhattan to where I worked at the time in December of 2021. Kate was a full time employee at the bank meanwhile I was still part-time, so I didn’t spend a lot of time with her at first. Then later in December, Kate was assigned to the closing shift with me. That meant every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and the occasional Saturday we would spend at least 3 hours together.&nbsp; Not to be dramatic, but bank’s aren’t exactly the most exciting places for the closing shift. This left lots of spare time for Kate and I to get to know each other. And boy did I talk too much…I told this girl I had just met all of my stories, for some reason, especially the bad ones. Yet, night after night at the bank when I showed up for closing, she’d be there with a smile ready to talk.&nbsp; So for about 10-12 months we were solid friends who enjoyed our shifts together, even learning that we shared friends! So being the brave young man I was, I asked her to hangout as “friends.” We took trips to Target, got food and ice cream together, all of those really solid friendship things!&nbsp; It wasn’t until March of 2023 I fully convinced myself that this girl even liked me and much more, that I deserved to be with her. So on March 11, 2023 I took Kate to Locked Manhattan, where we solved our first mystery as a team, and left the room as a team!&nbsp; A year and a half later, we returned to the same business, with a ring hidden among the mysteries I asked Kate to marry me! It has been an odd and windy road to get here, but I am eternally blessed with the girl God has put in my life! Celebrate with us!"

Kate: "I had the opportunity to transfer branches at work in December 2021. This transfer led to many nights a week spent working with Josh since we would close the bank together. This gave Josh and I plenty of time to talk (and we talked about everything). Josh and I quickly became closer friends. He began bringing his friends to O’Malley’s where they would sit at the bar for my shifts. This led to the start of hanging out outside of work. Josh casually asked if I wanted to run some errands with him. This would make our first ever time hanging out at a Walmart run for frozen pizza and candles. Josh and I began hanging out very frequently including going out together, having movie nights, and cooking and eating dinner together. Friends and family started making comments about when we would start dating which we would reply “we are just friends”. (just friends turned husband and wife.) In January 2023 Josh would return from a trip with a friend where we had decided we were going to exclusively see each other. On March 11, 2023, Josh would plan a secret date. He showed up at my door with flowers and a note asking if I would officially be his girlfriend (ABOUT TIME, RIGHT??). The rest of the date included El Patron for dinner and a locked room (which we did escape). Our relationship continued through many dates, movie nights, new recipes, concerts, live art and much more. In October 2024, Josh planned another one of his perfect date nights. I was told we were going to a locked room and out for drinks. Little did I know that the morning of this date Josh had gone to Locked and hid a ring! That night we went to Locked and started trying to solve our room. Josh found a set of numbers and asked if I could put the sequence into the lock. Once it was entered, the small door opened and inside was a little black box. Josh then asked If I would marry him and with a jaw on the floor and butterflies in my stomach I said yes!! (We did make it out of the locked room in time btw). Now we are planning our Happily Ever After 😊"
