Our story begins with a blind date.

After Lacey was convinced to go on a blind date, her roommates, Madison Basco, and Kasey Dumas, decided to find the best person for Lacey. After discussing and planning, Lacey was met with a pleasant surprise to walk out of her building and see Josh York waiting for her. Josh and Lacey knew each other while on Ouachita’s Campus Ministries Leadership team but had never really talked much. The two decided to go get ice cream and chat about their lives, their interests, and even their love for Marvel and Star Wars. These fun, intentional conversations led to a month of constant texting, catching up with one another, and going on dates before agreeing to pursue not only a friendship but a relationship with one another.

God blessed us greatly during our season of dating as we were able to navigate long-distance, laugh constantly, and love as God called us to.

On May 4, 2024, Josh planned to hang out with Lacey in Arkadelphia and have a picnic. The two drove to Lake DeGray and began setting up their picnic. But in an attempt to distract Lacey, Josh claimed that there were otters nearby that she should look for. Confused and distracted, Lacey turned around to Josh getting down on one knee and proposing.

We are so thankful for our time developing as a couple and all your love and support during that season! We are excited for our future together and appreciate all your love and prayers as we begin our marriage!
