The story begins in Fall of 2022. We both knew of each other as we worked at Montana State University's Residence Halls as Resident Advisors but had really no interaction. Then one day, before the residents moved in, we met in Hyalite Hall's Multi-Purpose Room. We just so happened to be in that room at the same time that day, and it was at this moment that something sparked. We kept making eyes at each other throughout the rest of the semester, and it was pretty clear that something was up. On New Year's Eve of 2021, with the help of a little liquid courage, Josh decided to message Julie on Instagram with a simple "Hey" (yes, just a Hey). Julie responded and we set up our first date!

We went on our first date on January 17th, 2022 at Mackenzie River, devoured a large pizza, and enjoyed a wonderful two hour conversation just getting to know each other. Julie claims this date wasn't the greatest but was good enough for a second date for the following Saturday. Unfortunately, before our second date could happen, Julie got into a car accident and had to go home until the following semester. Fast forward to September 6th, 2022 (Julie's 21st Birthday). Josh has now graduated college, and Julie returned to Bozeman to start her Senior Year. Somehow, Josh was able to swing a date with her to Dave's Sushi. This is what we call our “second first date” and was the true start to our love story!

On a random night out at Rocking R Bar on September 16th, 2022, Josh asked Julie to be his girlfriend (in a classic Josh move, he just told her friend that they were with that they were dating officially and Julie had to go along with it). Just over two months later on that same dance floor on November 18th, 2022 Julie let the big L word slip. Thankfully, Josh said it back!

After just six short months of dating, Julie decided to move in with Josh! Thankfully, everything went perfectly. Julie became much tidier, and Josh started eating much better food. We got our first apartment together and started to realize that we wanted to spend forever together. Flash forward a year and we are in our second apartment with our fur-son, Figs. After some trials and tribulations of getting a rescue dog, we realized that we could get through the tough stuff and maybe this whole marriage thing might just be for us.

On September 26th, 2024 Josh took Julie on a surprise trip to a remote VRBO in Paradise Valley and popped the question. Julie said yes (of course) and the rest is history.
