He thought to himself, “I’m going to marry this girl.”
What can we say, we fell in love the moment we laid eyes on each other.
It was a warm July evening in New Orleans. A bunch of us were celebrating with close relatives and friends when our eyes met. From there, everything changed.
Josh knew from that moment he wanted to marry her. Some would say it was love at first sight: fairytale stuff. And Kelly knew, just not at that exact moment. But it would take her no more than a week to realize there was something special here.
Though the group was from various states, somehow Josh and Kelly lived only a few miles apart in Virginia, but never met until that July night.
A week later, Josh was able to woo Kelly into going on their first date, an amazing experience at Stone Tower Winery. This is where Kelly fell in love with Josh. And it was the beginning of numerous dates at wineries, breweries, different restaurants trying new things.
Both love to travel and agreed to see the world together, so far including many quick trips around the country, then lavishing it out in Europe and the Dominican Republic (and maybe honeymoon there?).
It was on a trip to Iceland when Josh and Kelly got engaged on a beautiful ocean side trail complete with a cute little light house and an Icelandic sunset. Josh convinced Kelly to trek through a “Do Not Pass” sign, step over some Icelandic rocks (in heels), "just to take pictures" when he got down on one knee and asked the impossible question. She said “Yes!”
Josh also surprised her with one of her favorite wines, a bottle he brought back from a work trip to Australia, carefully sneaking it into Iceland. How could she not say yes?
Josh and Kelly push each other respectfully to be better every day, and they do it with love. Kelly is pursuing her Recreational Therapy career and Josh works in IT, completing his degree.
Our future is bright. We want to build something that will last forever and be passed down to generations. We want our love story to be remembered by our kids and our grandchildren.
Right now, we are taking a step back from traveling and focusing on the wedding. And we thank everyone for supporting us now and on our special day. We are excited to see you October 19!
