The way Josh and Emma met could only have been of the Lord. Emma moved down to Deland, Fl. in 2018, from Minnesota, where she grew up, with her family to attend a local church. Josh, after living with his family on the mission field in Bulgaria, moved to Florida after graduating from high school in 2020. He came to Deland because he wanted to attend the Bible Baptist Deland School of the Bible. Josh and Emma met each other one of the first times he was at the church, but they didn’t become very close friends right away. They didn’t really like each other very much at first, Josh thought Emma was too silly and Emma thought Josh was too serious; they did spend quite a lot of time around each other however, because they had mutual friends.

In the beginning of 2021, Josh and Emma started to realize that they really enjoyed being around each other and started to talk more, especially after nightly Bible school classes. On April 28th, 2021, Josh asked Emma’s father, if he could date her; Josh actually asked Emma to be his girlfriend that same night because he couldn’t wait to ask her!

Over the course of 11 months of dating, Josh and Emma had fallen in love, grown very close to one another, and knew that it was the Lord’s will for them to spend the rest of their lives together. From the beginning of their relationship, they dated with the intention of one day getting married, so it was only a matter of time!

On March 25th, 2022, Josh asked Emma to marry him, and she (most excitedly and a little tearfully) said yes!!! They are so excited to start their lives together and are looking forward to what the Lord has in store for them!! :)
