Our Story

Josh moved from Oregon to Indianapolis a couple of years ago to work at Brookville Road Community Church, and in this transition period, one of his new coworkers and her husband so kindly welcomed him into their family's home for many meals and fellowship. The fun connection is that this coworker also happens to be a very good friend of my mom's since college.

Last fall, she had reached out to my mom to see if I would be interested in being set up with this sweet, solid guy at her church named Josh Knox. She had also asked Josh if he would be interested in being set up with me. We both agreed, and later that day Josh texted me to set up a phone call.

After a phone call the next day, and a coffee date the day after that lasted for a few hours, we were both pretty interested in continuing to get to know one another. We went on another fun date a few days later, making our comfortability and connection with each other even more evident. On September 23, 2023, after the date that continued from morning to late evening because we simply didn't want to stop talking and spending time together, he asked me to be his girlfriend. I excitedly and without hesitation said yes! We both felt an unexplainable peace about it because it felt so comfortable. It simply felt right.

The last 10 months of dating have been the most incredibly beautiful, life-giving and fun months. SO much laughter (Josh is one of the funniest people I know) and fun, vulnerability and growth. He became my best friend. Something we've prayed for throughout this whole timeline of our relationship is that the Lord would be the builder of this house (Psalm 127:1). We want Him alone to get the glory for building and growing our relationship, because it was God who carved the paths to each other and then made our path together steady, solid ground. We praise the Lord because we have felt that beautiful confirmation every step of the way!

My joy overflowed on July 13th when Josh got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. That was the easiest, sweetest yes. We are so excited for marriage and learning what it looks like to love each other as husband and wife - the sacred, beautiful, undying and faithful love of Christ for the Church.

We are extremely excited to celebrate with all of our friends and family on November 9, 2024. We can't wait to see you all!!

Much love,

Josh and Meg
