Josh and Michael met in the slums of East Palo Alto in 2015. Josh was a postdoc at Stanford University, living with 3 housemates with the cheapest rent in the Bay Area (still $800/month!). Michael just graduated from UC Davis and was scrolling through Tinder for "buff dudes". They matched <3 and became great gaming and drinking buddies.

Michael moved to to Daly City for a job at Genentech - now only 20 minutes to see Josh instead of 2 hours. He must've really liked Josh to have been making that drive! However, Josh was falling in love with Michael, and thought Daly City wasn't close enough. Josh asked Michael to move in with him on January 20th, 2018. Michael said yes! Michael and Josh began going to EDM music festivals, pride events, Halloween birthday parties, and pretty much everything together - they couldn't get enough!

From when they first met, they had talked about going skydiving. Josh had gone once before and thought taking Michael would be the perfect opportunity to pop the question. On September 10, 2021, Josh dove out of the plane first and coordinated with the skydive team to lay out a big banner asking Michael to marry him. By the time Michael safely landed after the thrill of the free fall, Josh was on one knee and Michael was so excited. He said yes, again, but this time to the big question!

Josh and Michael also can't get enough of the beach. Every year they go to beaches in the Bay Area, beaches in LA, beaches in North Carolina, lakeside beaches. They've visited Playa del Carmen and Hawaii together, and determined that the beach is the perfect spot to get married. They can't wait to have you join them on this beach-front celebration.
