If you're familiar with online dating, you know one of the first requirements in these apps is to set a mileage range in which you hope to meet someone. Needless to say, Fort Wayne & Cincinnati fell way beyond either of our settings.
Christmas Eve of 2021, Josh was visiting his family in Seymour, IN when he logged into the app. Neither can remember who reached out first but conversations began, a couple virtual dates occurred, and we decided the distance was too much to handle at that time.
For those of you who know Josh, he loves sports... specifically football. One of the first things we bonded over was college and professional football. After we decided the distance was too much, the Bengals made the Super Bowl that year prompting him to reach out congratulating Lindsey on the big game.
Fast forward to March of 2022, Kentucky basketball was eliminated in the first round by St. Peters. This again made him think about Lindsey but decided not to reach out.
In April of 2022, he decided to reach out asking how things had been and to his surprise, I text him back. We spent the next 3-4 months facetiming, comparing dates, deciding if the individual we just met was worth a second date and talking a lot of smack regarding each other's sports teams.
That July, Josh made his first trip to Cincinnati. We ended up staying up all night watching The Greatest Showman and talking about anything and everything. After a few more trips to Cincinnati and Fort Wayne, we both could feel this was different and wanted to give things a try.
Over a period of time, the drive became second nature, and the distance was a minor inconvenience.
And here we are, almost 2 years later!
