Dorrin and Josh met on the LGBTQ+ Christian dating app Believr and FaceTimed everyday for three months. On May 14, 2021, Josh flew up to Pennsylvania to meet Dorrin in person; and the next day, they officially became boyfriends over a picnic in Samuel S. Lewis State Park. For the next two years, they dated long distance until Dorrin made the leap and moved in with Josh in Georgia. The day before the move, Dorrin took Josh back to the same park where the had their first date and proposed. Josh said yes!
