I (Josi) journaled about how cute he was, but it wasn’t until December 2021 that we really connected. Once again, it was Harry and Sydney who brought us together, this time in Charleston for Sydney’s birthday. We spent that entire weekend talking and getting to know one another, and by the end, I was completely smitten. I asked Phoenix to visit me in Charlotte in the New Year, and a few weeks later, he did. That started our journey of navigating a long-distance relationship for the next two and a half years.In August 2024, we made a big move to Western North Carolina to begin the next chapter of our lives together. Phoenix bought the ring in November of 2024, and on Valentine’s Day 2025, he popped the question, and without hesitation, I said, “YES!”We’re excited about settling in the Cashiers area, and are looking forward to purchasing our first home and building our lives together, and eventually growing our family. For now, we’re thrilled to share our lives with our fur babies, Charlie and Venus. We can’t wait to see where this journey takes us!

For those who will be flying in, the closest airport is AVL (Asheville). Plan to rent a car to get around, as Ubers are not widely available in the area. We recommend booking accomodations early.
