<p>Our story begins freshman year at college in the spring semester of 2021. Josie attended Dakota State University in Madison, SD while Parker attended South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD. DSU and SDSU are about 45 minutes away from each other. On March 19, 2021, Josie decided to head up to Brookings with her best friend (and MOH) Briley. Briley said she had some friends up there and wanted to know if Josie wanted to come along. Briley had mentioned that we would be hanging out in some kid named Parker's dorm room. So they went (not knowing that Josie and Parker had previously matched on Tinder haha). Not many words were exchanged between Parker and Josie that night, but they sure caught each other's eye! After a fun night, Briley and Josie went back to Madison. On the car ride home, Josie says to Briley, "Parker is cute, I want to Snapchat him." Briley replied, "Dude, you just met the love of your life!" Somehow, she knew. After a couple more times of hanging out either at SDSU or DSU with groups of friends, Josie and Parker had become smitten with each other. But the wrench thrown in was that Parker would be moving back home and transferring to the University of Minnesota. 4 hours away. Josie was sad, but they kept in touch sometimes over Snapchat over the summer. School went back into session, Josie still at DSU, and Parker at UMN. On October 2, 2021, Parker came to SD to visit some friends and they decided to meet up. That night they realized they could not spend another day without each other. A couple more visits were made over the next couple of months and on November 12, Parker asked Josie to be his girlfriend. Of course, she said yes. The next 2 1/2 years were filled with so many memories and fun times. Going to weddings, being with friends, traveling to new places, and more! On March 15, 2024, Parker and Josie traveled to Deadwood, SD for St. Patrick's Day weekend. While walking around the outside of Deadwood on a beautiful trail, Parker popped the big question! Josie (who never gets surprised) was totally surprised! Josie and Parker both went on to graduate college in May and now their 2 1/2 years of long distance had finally come to an end.</p>
