How we met

Before Tinder was thing we met online through a website called Meet me. After speaking for a couple of months in the Summer of 2010 we met for the first time on the most romantic date ever...Crawley Cineworld to watch Shrek 2! We spent the summer getting to know each other fully expecting it to end when Joseph went to university. However, when the time came neither of us wanted to say goodbye to each other and we are now firm believers that long distance relationships can work, although grateful that we are no longer in that position.

What we like to do together

Time together can be precious for us due to differing working patterns, however, when together we’re not shy of a trip or two, whether it’s waking up to the sounds of monkeys in the Costa Rican jungle, sampling all the best street food in Rome or having a seafood BBQ on one of many ‘glamping’ trips (Josie refuses to camp!)

Joseph has a massive love for sport but it took him a little while to convince Josie it would be fun to go to a football match (9 years!). However, in 2020 he dragged her along to Spurs v Leipzig in the Champions League. Spurs lost 1-0 but Josie had caught the Spurs bug and four years later Josie is a genuine fan of Tottenham and their Tiktok account (Honestly, its genius!)

A bit closer to home, we enjoy going for meals out, whether that be to the local carvery or memorable meals in places like the Shard. We also enjoy sunny dog walks, (emphasis on the sunny) as our dog does not do rain! Trips to the theatre have always been part of our relationship, ever since Joseph bought Josie tickets to Les Miserables for her birthday in our first year together.

Penny

As if we don't talk about her enough? Penny the pug came into our lives in 2021 after we enjoyed looking after a friends’ dog for a short while. Those puppy days tested our patience and we distinctly remember Penny pulling on Josie’s ponytail in our very first online puppy training class for all the see! She has added a sassy hilariousness to our ever lives since. Unfortunately we won't be having her at the wedding - she'd just upstage us!

Proposal

After 12 years together navigating our 20's and finding our places in the world, Joseph finally got his act together and proposed to Josie whilst walking on Worthing beach in January 2023.

It was a beautiful day and Joseph had a plan, but the beach was so busy with people and dogs that the right moment seemed to be slipping away!

As the sun was setting and Penny was having a great time in the sand, Joseph managed to grab a moment with Josie away from the crowds and popped the question.

We are so looking forward to becoming a married couple and can't wait to have you with us to enjoy the day.
