John and Joslin have been acquaintances since high school, but their relationship only started to develop after they had both graduated. In January 2023, John proposed to Joslin in a heartfelt moment at her family’s barn in Virginia, with her beloved dog Diesel playing a part in the proposal. Although not everything went smoothly due to Diesel's aversion to pigs, Joslin joyfully accepted John's proposal, marking the official start of their lifelong journey.

By December 2023, they chose to elope in an intimate ceremony with immediate family in the charming town of Onnancock. This was followed by settling into their first home together in April 2024, where they welcomed their first four-legged family member.
