Our Wedding

Tyler and I&nbsp;were introduced by our&nbsp;childhood best friends, Hannah and Trevor, who were determined to bring us together no matter what. We were forced to walk down the aisle and play instruments together at their wedding in 2014, all the while embarrassingly trying to avoid each other just to prove our friends wrong. But the Lord would have His way and bring us together again and again throughout the next few years.&nbsp;In the midst of my adventures and ministry in Idaho, I came back to Georgia for Christmas in 2016&nbsp;and once again found myself hanging out in the same friend circle as Tyler. This time, the Lord pointed Him out to me, "Joy, if he asks you to marry him, say yes." I argued with the Lord saying I didn't know Tyler but&nbsp;then we spent the next few months getting to know each other&nbsp;from other sides of the country. Despite our reservations&nbsp;to dating&nbsp;long distance, the Lord called us into a relationship in July 2017. From there we grew.&nbsp;In December of 2017, we were both brought separately&nbsp;by the Lord to a place of understanding that He was calling us out of our long distance relationship and into something deeper; marriage. In March, I traveled to New York to meet Tyler's family. While there, we went on adventures in New York City where Tyler gave many romantic gestures to make me think he was going to propose but wouldn't actually do it. All this was so that when he did propose&nbsp;later that week at an arboretum, I was completely surprised!&nbsp;I have since moved to Statesboro, GA, where I live in the house that Tyler and I will share after our wedding. We are&nbsp;ready, excited, and preparing for this next journey that the Lord has for us!

Hogan has always been like a brother to me.&nbsp;Haha! But in all seriousness, Hogan is a guy who I admire for his skills with his hands and his ability to pretty much do anything he puts his mind to. But even more importantly I highly respect him as a man of God and his strength of character. I couldn't ask for anyone better&nbsp;to be my best man!

Mary Laura and I met and became fast friends not too long ago but feel as though we have known each other our whole lives. She is a gifted singer with a heart for making the Name of the Lord famous. ML is discontent&nbsp;with a stagnant life and is ever seeking ways to grow in friendship, in life, and in the Lord.&nbsp;She has always encouraged me to wrap my relationship with Tyler completely in prayer and keep it ever before Him.&nbsp;Knowing her means laughing a lot, being loved well, and ever challenged in my&nbsp;faith.&nbsp;

Mary Laura Boyett	

Trevor is&nbsp;my oldest and best&nbsp;friend. I've known Trevor since we were just 3 years old. Whether it's shooting large guns or hiking a mountain in the middle of a blizzard, we have been on more adventures together than I can count through our years of friendship. He is also a valuable friend who I can always&nbsp;go to when I need advice. I'm excited to have him on this next adventure with me!

Trevor Berry

Hannah and I grew up together and have always had a knack for knowing how to make the best of every adventure; from failing at skiing to marathoning movies, there wasn't a time when we weren't laughing. There was also never a time when we didn't know that there would always be a spot for each other at our weddings.&nbsp;Hannah always sees&nbsp;the strengths of others even when they don't and welcomes anyone&nbsp;with open arms. She was the first one to point out that Tyler and I would be "perfect for each other" and refused to give up on that vision despite years of defiance in return. Now our friendship shifts to many looks of "I told you so," but I am excited to always have this sweet friend by my side in all adventures and learn from her what it means to be a godly wife.&nbsp;

Hannah Berry

Bekah and I were basically inseparable throughout college, from being co-workers to roommates, we never got tired of laughing together or becoming way too invested in the next Netflix series. Bekah always makes everyone in the room feel like the most important person there and has always encouraged me to grow&nbsp;in my relationship with Tyler. She never gives up on sending me recipes and&nbsp;links to romantic date nights since I always lack in those&nbsp;areas.&nbsp;Bekah is a shoulder to cry on or a slap in the face when I need it, but always in the most loving way and with many Spongebob, Star Wars, or Captain America references.&nbsp;

Bekah Patterson

Josh is my brother-in-law. Whether it's his knowledge of theology and ministry or his undying loyalty to the South Carolina Gamecocks, he is truly a great part of the family! Most of all I respect him for the way he leads his family. I am glad to have him in the wedding party!

Joanna is the sister closest in age to&nbsp;me and recently got married herself. She and Tyler are very similar and I'm very similar to her man, so we go to each other often with our, "why is he like this?!"&nbsp;moments.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;She is one of the sweetest persons you could ever meet and is always&nbsp;patient in listening, understanding, and explaining. Don't be fooled though, every party is better with her around.&nbsp;

Joanna Willison 

I met Tedder (aka Jacob) at CIU. We were in practically every youth ministry class together, the same small&nbsp;group, and were even in student government together. We continued our friendship after college as we both pursued youth ministry. I had the honor of being in his wedding a couple years ago and it's so cool to have him be in mine now!

Jacob Tedder

Julia is my youngest sibling and brings the party with her wherever she goes. She knows no stranger and seeks to turn every dull moment into an exciting adventure. A&nbsp;romantic at heart, Julia always wants to know that my love for Tyler is genuine, expressed, and growing. We are never bored when we're together and never wearing matching outfits if she can help it.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Julia Butcher 

Being&nbsp;friends with Trevor also brought about a friendship with Jeremy. Jeremy (or "Old Man Jerms" as I know him) is one of those solid friends you can always count on. His house is still one of my regular stops every time I&nbsp;make it through Columbia SC. We continue to share a love of geeky tech, movies, and really good coffee. I'm so thankful to be able have him celebrate my big day with me!
