We were both Dean of Students at rival high schools Cholla (Joy) and Pueblo (Shamond). We had required trainings once a month to attend. We met at those trainings cordially and added each other on Facebook. Over winter break Mon asked me on a date and asked where I wanted to go. I said “Frog and Firkin because I got a gift card!”

We spent over six hours on the date only to find out the gift card didn’t work but it didn’t matter. We had a blast.

We’ve had the most incredible time falling in love and getting to know each other’s families, spending time as a family with Lala and Jacob. We look forward to building more in the future together.
