Public Transportation: The most direct route to St. Andrews is a 1 hour and 15-minute train ride from the Edinburgh Waverley or Haymarket stations to Leuchars, Scotland. From Leuchars, take the 99 bus from Railway Station for about 15 minutes to St. Andrews bus station. There are other available routes, so please make sure to consult Maps and plan your travel accordingly.
Coach: You can also book a coach bus that will take you from Edinburgh to St. Andrews for less than £15. Total trip might be closer to 2 hours. Please make sure to plan ahead and book online via Stagecoach. or any other coach service.
St. Andrews is a small and very walkable town. If you don't feel like walking, however, there are local buses that can drive you about town and to surrounding villages and towns. Ridesharing (Uber) is only available in larger cities, but feel free to look up a local taxi service such as St. Andrews Taxi Services or Easy Taxi.
