Love at first sight

Picture of Love at first sight

Do you believe in love at first sight??? Well we didn’t until our worlds clashed 10 years ago. Imagine going to church on resurrection Sunday to minister in dance and your future husband is sitting right there in the second row of the church. Neither one of us was looking for a relationship, but it’s safe to say that God saw fit to finally have us come together to finally say hello to one another.

Willie and I both knew of each other due to the fact that I had been connected to Willie’s family since 2012 due to going to his brother’s church. Willie at the time was living with his grandmother so we never connected and had a conversation until April 20th 2014. That was the day that God began aligning our hearts.

When I first saw Willie I immediately started talking to his younger brother while he sat there and all I could remember was us discussing me baking a cake while still trying to see which brother he was. I told my Pastor at the time that I thought his brother was cute and his response was, “You like my red haired brother.” I was nervous but I wanted to at least say hello to him. So I sent him a friend request, and we both began having a casual conversation. From that point the rest was history.

We began dating and originally got married on his birthday June 8th 2015. The small ceremony was nothing of what we wanted, but at the end of the day we loved one another and with our I do’s it was us against the world!!!

As we move into March 21st 2025 we will be celebrating 10 years of marriage. We never had a honeymoon so we are making a point to enjoy Jamaica which is our dream place and have our dream wedding we didn’t do in the beginning. God has had his hand on us, and as we reflect on our moments of love we want to invite all who would love to celebrate our journey to come and witness the renewal of our vows. 10 years of love, growth, and maturity. With our God leading us each step of the way.
