Gambling on love.

Josh and I met 7+ years ago on a blackjack table at Treasure Island Resort and Casino.

I had told a friend that I would attend the party he was throwing for his then girlfriend, now wife. (Way to go Greg and Trisha!) It would be my first time meeting her, but I wanted to get her a small gift. Come the day of the party, I've been dealing with a terrible cold. Coughing, sneezing, no sleep, sounding like a dude and dying with every word I spoke. I had bought a gift, made a hotel reservation and didn't want to cancel the day of. I attended the birthday party at the Tipsy Turtle during the evening and at midnight called it quits and went back to my hotel room to try and sleep. Took a Benadryl. Tossed and turned for 2 hours with no sleep in sight. Accepting defeat, I decided to go onto the casino floor and gamble.

I was sitting at a blackjack table when Josh walked in from outside, came straight to the table and started yelling at the dealer. Poor Jesse. Sorry Jesse. Josh and Jesse have been friends for over 20 years and still are. Josh decides to sit down and play blackjack with us. We were all talking and laughing, having a good time. Every time I spoke, I coughed like a dude. At some point Josh gets up to grab a drink and offered to grab me one. I said no, but he got me a cup of water anyways. We continue to play for a bit more before I decided to go walk around. I said bye and walked off. An hour or so later, I decided to come back and play blackjack again. At a different table, we meet again. I had already forgotten who he was. He reminded me of earlier and we play at the same table for a bit. Not much later, I decided to go to bed. I said good night and went back to my room.

A few days later, Jesse sends me a message:

"Hey, do you remember my friend, Josh?"

"No."

"Well, he said you're cute and wants to get to know you better."

".........No."

"Give him a chance. If nothing else, you'll have a great friend."

And the rest is history. Stupid Benadryl.
