We love to tell this story so you've probably heard it before...Jules started working at AOL in early 2007, where Jared had already been established in the world of digital media and music for a few years. Jules' reputation for incredible athletic prowess quickly circulated the AOL sales floor. A crew of large, gruff sales guys immediately started stopping by her desk each day to beg her to join the AOL corporate softball team. Jules was NOT interested. Finally, one day she gave in and agreed to play in one game. She found herself sandwiched in the back of a tiny BMW on her way to Randall's Island for her very first softball game. Although she cannot remember anything about that game, or how she or the team did, she can remember locking eyes with center fielder Jared at post-game drinks at the dirty Upper East Side bar The Back Page. The two softball rookies made an instant connection over bad draft beer and buffalo wings. After that night, Jules decided that she loved softball, and ultimately became captain of the team, making sure to organize a team bonding event every single week. Jared never missed a game. The rest is history! A special shout out to our friends on the AOL Softball team who probably knew what was happening before we did.

Easiest way to arrive by air is to fly into Burlington International Airport (BTV). Rental Cars are available at the airport and the drive to Waitsfield from the airport takes about 50 minutes via I-89 South. BTV rental car companies are all conveniently located inside the terminal, on the main floor, adjacent to the baggage carousels. Rental vehicles are a short walk from the counters via a covered skywalk and are inside the new parking garage—protected from rain or snow. Burlington International Airport

Clay Brook is the luxury resort at Sugarbush. We have a room block here that includes King rooms and One-Bedroom suites. The resort offers a year-round outdoor heated pool and two outdoor hot tubs. The pool is heated to between 80 and 82°F, and hot tubs are heated to 104°F. Breakfast at the resort's restaurant is included and we will have shuttle pickup here for the wedding. Clay Brook at Sugarbush

A great option for couples or singles looking be social with other wedding guests late into the night after each evening's event. The Sugarbush Inn is not a great option for those with families or who may want a quieter stay.We have blocked the entire 40-room inn! Each room can hold 2 guests and since we will be taking over the entire inn we have full and uninterrupted use of all common spaces including the bar, wood-paneled library, sitting room with fireplace, and billiards room. Driving from New York City to Waitsfield, VT takes about 5 and a half hours and is a great drive in the Fall to take in the foliage. From the FDR North take I-95 N, CT-15 N, I-91 N and I-89 N to Center Rd in Middlesex. Take exit 9 from I-89 N. Follow VT-100B S and VT-100 S to Bridge St in Waitsfield.

We also have access to a number of condos at Sugarbush including lofts and multiple bedroom residences. These will be a great option for families or couples that want more privacy and space. These units are located close to Clay Brook so anyone staying here can join the wedding shuttle pickup at Clay Brook. Choose from an array of one to four bedroom mountainside or country town homes located within the Sugarbush Resort. These units offer easy access to all activities and events that take place at Sugarbush, within the Mad River Valley, and Central Vermont. Resort Condos at Sugarbush

The White Horse Inn is a modern but cozy 26-guest-room inn and bed-and-breakfast, and is another great inexpensive option for single guests or couples. Every room is unique and has either a single King bed or two Queen beds (plus two rooms have bunks!). We have the entire inn blocked so please mention the Benedict-Willig wedding when calling to book.Each room reservation comes with breakfast at the inn, and the shuttle to the wedding will stop here as well.

White Horse Inn

The Inn at the Mad River Barn is located 1.7 miles from Mad River Glen, and 4.8 miles from Sugarbush's Lincoln Peak. We offer 18 guest rooms, with many different sizes and configurations. Some sleep 2, and others sleep up to 6. We even have two family-style suites and one loft unit. Breakfast is included for all Inn guests. In addition to our guest rooms, we also have an onsite restaurant, a pub with a floor to ceiling fieldstone fireplace, and a game room where guests can play a game of shuffleboard on the newly refurbished antique shuffleboard table, or a game of foosball. Board games, cribbage, and cards are also available. This is a lovely place to stay with a fun bar and great restaurant, however we do not have a room block here and the shuttle to the wedding will not pick up here so guests will need to drive to the wedding on Saturday.

Lareau Farm Inn is a classic Vermont farmhouse nestled on the banks of the Mad River. Our thirteen comfortable guest rooms are each individually decorated with a collection of country antiques and handmade quilts. A scrumptious farmhouse breakfast and afternoon treats are included in the room pricing. We specialize in Vermont family hospitality and gracious service.Lareau Farm will be hosting the welcome dinner on Friday night so any guests of the inn can walk right inside to bed. This is a small VT bed and breakfast with country-style accommodations. We don't have a room block here, but it's a cozy and reasonably priced option for guests that are looking for some VT charm.

Head up to Mad River Glen for a hike to see the mountain we love so much! Trail descriptions below and more info on the website:The Stark Mountain Trail (2.5 miles to the summit – 2,036' of vertical gain) This trail follows a wide, well established, "work road" up to the summit of General Stark Mountain. It meanders up the ski trails under the Single Chair, past a large waterfall, over towards the Sunnyside Double chairlift, into what is known as the Birdland area. This hike generally takes 1 to 1.5 hours to reach the summit. The Bunny Cut-Off Trail This trail is slightly steeper than the Stark Moun- tain Trail and cuts 0.4 miles off of the hike to the summit. The Bunny Cut-Off Trail diverges from the main trail and then ascends the ski trail named Bunny. It rejoins the Stark Mountain Trail about 0.5 miles below the Single Chair mid-station. This intersection is just 0.2 miles downhill with the intersection with the Sunnyside Trail. The Sunnyside TrailThis spur off of the Stark Mountain Trail slopes gently up the Fox ski trail for 0.4 miles to the top of the Sunnyside Double chairlift. From the summit of the lift it connects with the Long Trail. Go south (right) on the LT and you'll head down towards the Appalachian Gap (distance 1.6 miles). The Long Trail The Long Trail runs south from the top of Appala- chian Gap where it intersects with the Stark Moun- tain Trail at the summit. It also connects with the Sunnyside Trail. These intersections allow hikers to make loops of varying length and difficulty on Gen. Stark Mountain. From the top of Appalachian Gap you can take the Long Trail north for 1.3 miles to Molly Stark Balcony which offers beautiful views of Camel's Hump and Burnt Rock. Jerusalem Trail This out and back trail emanates from Jerusalem, follow the Jim Dwire Road to the trail head park- ing area. The trail begins gradually then ascends steeply through heavy forest to connect with Long Trail 0.9 miles south of the summit of Gen. Stark Mountain. Hikers can also go north on the Long Trail where it follows along the ridge skirting Sug- arbush's ski trails before reaching the summit of Mt. Ellen, Vermont's third-highest peak at 4,083'.
