In typical modern-romance fashion, Jimmy and Julia met online in the summer of 2018. They kept in touch for a year while Jimmy was at Virginia Tech and Julia was at VCU, and they reconnected when Jimmy moved back to Richmond after college. On September 27th, 2019, Jimmy and Julia went on their first date at Quirk's downtown rooftop bar. Jimmy adored Julia's smile and silly sense of humor, and Julia loved Jimmy's corny dad jokes and kind-hearted spirit. After Jimmy received the approval of Julia's cat, Luna, the couple's relationship began and continued to evolve into what it is today!

Jimmy and Julia's long-term goal as a couple is to one day have visited all 30 MLB ballparks! This journey has already taken them across the country with many lifetime memories made along the way. Highlights include visiting Red Rocks Amphitheatre while in Denver, going on a dolphin cruise in Tampa Bay, drinking (and despising) malört in Wrigleyville, and, of course, getting engaged by the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco!

When they're not traveling to ballparks or Jonas Brothers concerts, Jimmy and Julia can be found curled up on the couch with Luna and Misty, the newest addition to the family! Luna loves binge-watching Degrassi while sitting in mom's lap, while Misty prefers watching movies with dad and trying to steal a bite of his popcorn.

Regardless of the activity, Jimmy and Julia always feel right at home with each other (and their cats). They love how well their personalities complement each other, and find joy in how their love makes the good days better and the tough days easier. On the 6th anniversary of their first date, September 27th, 2025, Jimmy and Julia are overjoyed to be taking the next step in the life they've built together, and they're so excited to be celebrating with all of their friends and family!

In May 2024, Jimmy and Julia took a week-long trip to San Francisco, California to cross 2 MLB Ballparks off their list - Oracle Park and Oakland Coliseum. They had tried all week long to get a good glimpse of The Golden Gate Bridge, but it was covered in fog each time. Near the end of their trip, Jimmy planned a fancy dinner and suggested they go view the sunset afterwards. Jimmy led Julia down a long set of rocky steps and promised a (very reluctant) Julia that it would be worth it.

When they reached the bottom, the fog from the week had miraculously disappeared and they saw the most breathtaking view of The Golden Gate Bridge. Before Julia really knew what was happening, two photographers appeared out of nowhere and caught the moment Jimmy got down on one knee. Julia had absolutely no idea, and is still not sure how he managed to keep it a secret all week!
