Emily Cathey - Maid of Honor
My name is Emily and I'm Julia's sister! I am a student at the University of Wyoming and I love my family. Now that Asher is around I won't win trivial pursuit ever again. That's a price I'm willing to pay to see my sister in love with her person.
Sarah Fortner - Bridesmaid
My name is Sarah. I'm a cousin of Julia's! I live in Broadus, MT with my husband and our two boys. Growing up, Julia and her family would visit my family's ranch every summer where Julia and I would lock ourselves in my room and talk mostly about boys and our dreams of the future. I'm so happy Julia has found her person and I can't wait to see what's in store for them!
Hannah Adams - Bridesmaid
Julia and I met in college then quickly became roommates. Throughout our friendship we've shared laughter, tears, and once in a lifetime experiences. Julia's been a pivotal person in my life exemplifying how to love and be loved. I was nervous to meet Asher, but quickly realized he loves Jules with the same ferocity she loves her family, friends, and now him. Cheers to Julia and Asher, I can't wait to celebrate you both and see what your future holds!
Aspen Golding - Bridesmaid
Julia and I have been friends since freshman year of college at UW. One day while helping her move from her tiny apartment to a house, Julia mentioned that if you're freinds with someone for 7 years, you'll be friends for life. By now we have been good buds for several more than that! I am honored to call someone as kindhearted and thoughtful as her my friend, and I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of amazing life and partnership she and Asher have together. I also love pokemon, my 3 little snakes, and enjoying the evenings from my balcony.
Wyatt Overton - Bridesman
Hello Everyone, I am so excited to share this beautiful day celebrating Julia and Asher. I first met Julia at the University of Wyoming our freshman year. We quickly bonded over our faith, service to others, and many other interests! Over the years we have created some wonderful memories playing DND, hiking, and traveling all over the country. I am so happy and proud of Julia and Asher for the relationship they have built. I remember when I first met Asher I was so impressed by his thoughtfulness and energy. He seemed like the perfect fit for Julia and this day is a testament to that fact!
Davis Cathey - Bridesman
Hello everybody! I have known Julia since I came out of the womb, and because of that I've gotten to watch her grow in the person she is my whole life. I've watched her triumph, and watch her fail, and watching her learn from both. Because of her I know what it's like to be resilient, to try everything on gods green earth, and to have no fear in doing so! I'm so gifted to have such an amazing role model in my life, and I am so excited to now have two!
Matthew Cathey - Bridesman
My name is Matthew and I am Julia's brother! I have learned so much from my wonderful sister after living together my freshman year of college, including how to be an adult and be independent. I am so happy that she has found someone that not only compliments her independence but enhances her kindness and character. I am so happy for both Asher and Julia and look forward to the beautiful life they will lead together!
Jaaz Catterall - Best Man
I'm 30 years old, and thankfully I've known Asher for 29 of those years. I don't remember life before him, but it was probably boring. We used to tell everyone we were twins because we wore matching socks-which I'm pretty sure we actually believed. Fast forwarding a few years, we're both a little older and wiser. I've been fortunate enough to marry up well out of my league, and I'm excited to see Asher following suit. He's as loyal, caring, and protective as they come, so it's safe to say Julia's got herself a good one too. Can't wait to celebrate them both in October!
Fabian Muñoz-Lechuga - Best Man
Brother, Thanks to Chance:
The definition for "brother" in the dictionary is written as: a male connected with another person by a common parent." To me, the definition is much broader. See, I have a bother by birth that matches that definition perfectly- and another by chance.
My first time meeting Asher was in 2011 in Glendive, MT. We didn't know it then, or until much later, but that encounter was one that made a real memory (ask him- he remembers that 50-man track mile race).
We officially became friends when we found out we were both running college track for the same psycho coach. What started as a friendly competition on Snapchat to see who could run more summer miles blossomed into one of the best things that's happened in my life.
I've shared many miles with Asher- many good, and many bad. During the thousands of miles we've ran together, Asher and I have talked about life, love, heartbreak, family, what lies beyond our time here on earth, and God knows what else. I've seen many forms of Asher: long hair, flannel, and short shorts; short hair, sleeveless flannel, and short shorts; ball cap, tennis shoes, and you guess it short shorts; cowboy hat, cowboy boots, and yes, short shorts. Likewise, he's seen many versions of me.
Asher is a person unlike any I've ever met. He's been with me through the best of times and has gotten me through the worst. Through everything, he has been a constant unwavering rock for me. I only hope I've been the same or close to it.
Asher is one-of-a-kind person. He's quickly, and let's be honest pretty freaking weird. But who isn't?
All that to say, my broader definition of "brother" is just two simple words: Asher Catterall.
Jacob Opdahl - Groomsman
I am Jacob Opdahl! I grew up in Oregon and went to school at Lindenwood University. I met Asher through our mutual friend Fabian when Asher moved from Oregon to Gillette. My introduction to Asher involved being told “you’re either gonna get along really well or hate each other”. Fortunately Asher has become a very close friend I depend on. I love the outdoors and any kind of fishing.
Colette Richter - Groomswoman
Hi! I'm Colette! I met Asher one winter at McCredie hot springs in Oregon! Talking amongst each other as we do at public hot springs, Asher overheard me talking about running in Eugene where I had recently moved to. Asher said he was also a runner and was moving to Eugene soon so we exchanged numbers and within a few months we were running buddies! Eventually Asher also became my coach! Over time we have shared running many miles together, along with my pup Kenobi (pictured in photo). Hopefully there will be some group runs over the wedding weekend! Congrats to the happy couple!
Larry Nadeau - Groomsman
Hi I’m Larry! I’ve know Asher since Julia decided she was going on a tinder date with him. Asher has been very involved in my life since then. Asher and I run and push each other to be better people anytime we’re together. I can’t explain how much of an impact he’s made on my life. I love to run, fish, and work on German cars! Thank you for including me on this beautiful day to come, I cannot wait to see the world you two create!
Charles Catterall - Groomsman
My name is Charles Catterall. I am very proud to say that I am Asher's father. I grew up in Gillette, but have lived all over the U.S. and in Chad, Africa since leaving Gillette after high school. I have been married to my beautiful wife Connie for more than 31 years. We have 9 wonderful children and 3 adorable grandchildren. Professionally, I have worked in Christian ministry for 30 years as a missionary, pastor, teacher, and director of faith formation. Currently, I am completing coursework and a clinical practicum to become a psychotherapist. My fondest memories with Asher are many early morning times together drinking coffee while reading, then going out for runs, especially the winter ones 😊. Those runs provided us many opportunities for deep and meaningful conversations about life.
Kathryn “Kat” Murrell - Groomswoman
Hi I’m Kat! I have a unique perspective because I actually met Asher and Julia at the same time. I had just moved to Wyoming and we were all going to go on a camping trip together. I was nervous moving so far from where I grew up, but becoming friends with Asher and Julia has made the transition so much easier. Asher is very good friends with my boyfriend, I was warned before I met him that he can be a little… let’s say, unconventional. But that doesn’t even begin to describe Asher. Even in the short time I’ve known him and Julia, I’ve seen how committed he is to his friends and to his fiancé. I’ve seen how much relationships and friendships mean to him, and I am happy he has found someone who feels the same way as him. I am so excited to be able to be a part of supporting Asher and Julia as they take the next step in their relationship!
