Josh and Julia coincidently sat a few seats away from each other in their Psychology class. As Julia got up to leave, she turned to check her seat for dropped items as always, but Josh was already following her out of the aisle and bumped into her. They laughed it off but also realized they recognized each other. After chatting for a bit they figured out they were both from Williamsburg with mutual friends and had gone to the same middle school, but rival high schools (Eagles>Rams). They started getting post-lecture dinners together at the less than exciting Newcomb dining hall, and a few months later started dating.

Julia met all of Josh's family at a wedding, 2 months into dating

Josh and Julia take on the pandemic together. Julia moved into Josh's 550 sqft apartment with him, and to keep from going crazy they went on frequent walks and hikes together (Humpback Rock pictured here).

The week before moving out of Charlottesville, they take a small vacation to visit Luray Caverns. They take poor quality photos in a very dark cave but have a great time.

Josh and Julia expand their family with this little rascal. As she repeatedly crawled into the (unlit) fireplace, she earned the name Ember.

Josh and Julia visit one of Josh's sisters in Colorado. They think its summer, perfect hiking weather, but end up risking their lives scaling a sheet of ice on the shadowed side of the mountain. 10/10 worth it for the views.

Thursday, March 21st, Josh gets a call that the custom engagement ring he designed is ready. He picks it up but can't wait to propose, so he takes Julia on a walk to a nearby garden. She says yes! And by chance, their neighbor walks by, who takes this amazing picture for them.
