Devin took Julia to the park by their houses. They just got their dog, Bean, and wanted to go for a walk. It was Alicia’s birthday, and Eric was coming home from college. Alicia suggested her birthday since Julia would never suspect to get proposed to then.

All of them were nice and bundled up since it was a cold December day (even Bean). Devin thought it would be a great idea to take Julia to the pretty bridge area of the park. There were a few problems, though. One, it was farther off the beaten path. Two, it was getting dark. Three, it just rained. Devin tried to get Julia down there or at least distract her with the beautiful view a few times. They reached the middle of the park when Devin asked Julia to take a picture of the sunset (really the last ray of sunlight that day). Julia quickly snapped the shot and turned around to get a group shot when Devin had his arm like a chicken wing in the inside pocket of his coat. She was about to ask what it was about when Bean wrapped the leash around her legs. Julia had to spin around and untangle herself. By the time she freed, Devin was down on one knee.
