Curious about what to wear?

We know that it can be tough to find the perfect wedding outfit, so here's some guidance from Julia and Chris:&nbsp;to truly fit into our wedding vision, we want you to feel pretty, be comfortable, and wear whatever you want. Keep in mind that we'll be running around on the beach during the reception and dancing into the night, so you might consider a change of shoes. Seattle weather in April is incredibly difficult to predict, so wear layers! It could be sunny in the 70s or it could be raining in the 40s. Chris will be wearing a swanky new blue suit, Julia will have a flower crown, Davis might or might not be in a kilt, dresses with pockets get extra points, the ceremony will be an Episcopal service with a full eucharist, Seattle is a very casual scene, and we are very open about attire.&nbsp;One more note: if you are visiting Seattle from out of town, leave the umbrella at home and pack a raincoat. We let the moss grow on our backs&nbsp;(this will make sense once you get here).&nbsp;

An international hostel with options for a private room and shared rooms. Julia's parents always stay here when they visit and love it! Fremont is immediately adjacent to Ballard and full of fun things to do and delicious things to eat and drink. Hotel Hotel is very close to the Burke Gilman trail, so great for runners and bikers. Fremont is a pretty happening neighborhood, so it won't be entirely quiet at night and there are steep stairs you have to climb to enter the hostel.&nbsp;

The wedding ceremony will be in St.&nbsp;Luke's historic chapel, on the corner of 22nd Ave and NW&nbsp;58th St. Limited parking is available in the church parking lot. Street parking is tight, so we suggest carpooling or public transit if possible. The 44 and 40 bus routes drop off near the church. You can reach it by bike on the Ballard Neighborhood Greenway on NW&nbsp;58th St and it is near the Burke-Gilman Trail. The ceremony begins at 3:30pm.

The reception will be in the bathhouse at Golden Gardens Park. While we will be sharing the beach with park-goers, we do have the bathhouse reserved for the reception.&nbsp;Parking is on a first come, first serve basis, but if the main parking lot fills up, there are alternate parking lots further up Seaview Pl and there is street parking by the marina. The park is accessible by bike on the Burke-Gilman Trail. We hope the weather will allow us to play on the beach and make some bonfires, so dress warmly and comfortably!

Located in the Chinese-International District and attached to our favorite tea shop, the Panama Hotel is living history. Even if you don't stay here, you should visit to learn about the Japanese internment on the West Coast, the full-service traditional Japanese-style sento, and the&nbsp;history of&nbsp;immigrants in Seattle. And check out the neighborhood for the amazing food,&nbsp;shops, and cultural events!

Having lived in Ballard for over three years, we know it's the best neighborhood in Seattle. Visit the Ballard Farmers Market from 10am-3pm on Sundays, find a show at the Sunset Tavern or Tractor Tavern, check out the excellent and abundant food and drink scene, explore shops on Ballard Ave,&nbsp;and have an adventure in the brewery district with the Ballard Brewery Passport! You really can't go wrong.

Watch the ships come through these 100 year old locks!&nbsp;See spawning salmon come through the fish ladder! Observe the sea lions eating the salmon right at the mouth of the fish ladder! The locks really are worth a visit.

Did you know that Ballard is traditionally a Scandinavian community?&nbsp;The Nordic Museum is a fantastic experience, with both historic and&nbsp;contemporary exhibits of art and culture. Learn about Nordic culture both in America and the homeland, and sit in a "tree room" with serene music, views of Nordic countries on a big screen, and bean bag chairs that look like rocks.&nbsp;There's also a lovely cafe attached, with a Scandinavian menu.

Seattle has some amazing museums!&nbsp;Some of our favorites include the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP), the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI), the Klondike Gold Rush Museum (free!), the Seattle Art Museum (SAM), the Seattle Pinball Museum (more like an arcade), and there are more. Admission cost and hours vary, and you can find more info online.&nbsp;

Museums

We really suggest taking a ferry ride, whether it's part of a larger trip, or a fun afternoon to Bainbridge Island. It's like being on a really short cruise, with amazing mountain views (depending on the weather) and a galley with delicious meals and drinks to enjoy during your trip.&nbsp;If you visit Bainbridge, then you can easily walk from the terminal to the downtown area and enjoy wine tasting, shopping, restaurants, and a little nature walk.&nbsp;Adult tickets to walk on a ferry to Bainbridge or Bremerton are only $8.50 and include the return ride. The Seattle ferry terminal is downtown and easily accessible by public transit.&nbsp;

Ferries

Nestled in the beautiful Sammamish River Valley just 30 minutes northeast of Seattle, Woodinville Wine Country is home to over 100 wineries and tasting rooms representing every appellation in Washington. Make sure to visit our friends at&nbsp;the Guardian and/or Newsprint tasting rooms to check out the winery where Chris worked!
