1. Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outside (weather permitting) on the northeast facing lawn of the Moyer property. The reception will take place in a spacious tent on the property. Guests will also be welcome to relax down by the pond and stroll the grounds.

2. What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Think cocktail dresses or a suit and tie or a sports coat. Keep in mind that it is an outdoor wedding in southern Ontario in July, so it may be very warm and sunny out.

All events will take place on the lawn; therefore we recommend avoiding stilettos or high heels without a wide base. Espadrilles, platforms, or flats are your friend for this event!

3. What will the weather be like this time of year?

Average daytime highs for the area in early July are around 26 Celsius, dipping down to about 24 degrees in the evening and 16 overnight.

4. Since this is an outdoor event, will there be washrooms?

Absolutely! We have rented beautiful spacious portable washrooms for the occasion. Don’t worry, these are not your average construction site port-o-potties!

5. Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

As this is a garden wedding, the ground may be uneven in places. Those using wheelchairs, walkers and other mobility aides will be able to access all the venue areas but should take caution if feeling unsteady. There are 3 steps to access the portable washroom. There is an accessible washroom available to guests who are unable to manage stairs.

6. How do I get to the wedding venue?

If you are staying at the hotel block in Simcoe, there will be a shuttle bus service to take you to and from the venue. See the Transportation page for details. For guests coming from elsewhere, 170 Jenkins Road is easily searchable in Google Maps. As a reminder to out of town guests: there are toll roads in the GTA so plan accordingly to avoid extra travel fees. Please see the Location and Map section for more details.

7. Where should guests park?

We encourage guests to take advantage of the free shuttle bus service, or carpool if coming from a region other than Simcoe. For those who choose to drive, there will be limited parking available in the driveway with overflow available along Jenkins Road.

8. What time should I arrive?

While the bride is always behind schedule, the groom is stickler for punctuality. Therefore, let’s all ease his stress and aim to be there on time! We recommend arriving between 2:00 - 2:30pm. This will give everyone a chance to mingle and find a seat before the celebrations begin. Please see the Schedule page for more details.

9. Are kids welcome?

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. That being said, children will be participating in the wedding party, therefore a babysitter will be onsite to watch them inside during the reception. Please contact the bride directly if childcare will be a factor in your attendance.

10. Can I bring a plus one?

Unfortunately, we have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our celebration is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your wedding invitation.

11. When is the RSVP deadline? Can I RSVP online?

12. Do you have a hotel block for guests?

Yes, we have arranged a hotel block in Simcoe, which is located 20 minutes from the venue. Please see the Accommodations page for more details. There are also hotels available in surrounding cities such as Brantford and Paris, but please note that the shuttle bus will not be servicing these areas.

13. Do you have any recommendations for where to eat, points of interest or things to do?

Yes! We recommend visiting the ‘Things to Do’ page of our website, where we’ve compiled all of our favourite local hot spots and fun things to do in the area, including coffee shops, spas, and restaurants to visit before or after the wedding.

14. What happens after the ceremony?

After the ceremony, the wedding party will be taking pictures for about an hour. During this time, there will be a cocktail hour for guests to enjoy light hors d’oeuvres and an open bar. There will also be a wide variety of lawn games for kids of all ages to enjoy.

15. For the dinner, will there be any vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free or special diet options?

The caterer will do their best to accommodate special dietary restrictions. Please notify us of any restrictions or allergies with your RSVP.

16. Where are you registered?

We are so thankful you will be joining us for this celebration of our love. While gifts are not expected, we have registered with HoneyFund to help fund our dream honeymoon. A link to our wedding registry can be found here.

This is essentially a destination wedding for the couple – therefore please refrain from bringing physical gifts to the event!

The most important thing to us is that you are able to celebrate with us on our wedding day. However, if you wish to give a gift, we will gratefully accept a small contribution towards our honeymoon. We are also registered at Canadian Tire to help make our dream backyard oasis a reality!
