The first time I heard his name, it came from his cousin, who casually mentioned, I think you two would get along. I smiled politely but didn’t think much of it at the time. Little did I know, that simple suggestion would change my life. Our first date was at Prosecco Cafe. I arrived a little early, my introverted nature making me want a moment to settle in before meeting someone new. Then as I watched him walk in—confident, easygoing, and wearing a smile that instantly made me feel at ease. Conversation flowed surprisingly naturally. He carried it when I needed a moment, asked thoughtful questions, and somehow made me laugh more than I expected. As the evening stretched on, we discovered we had more in common than we thought—especially our love for animals and quiet moments at home. I might have been reserved at first, but he had a way of drawing me out, making me feel safe in his presence. By the time we said goodbye, I knew this wasn’t just another date. It was the start of something special. Looking back, I’m grateful for that nudge from his cousin and for that cozy evening at Prosecco Cafe. Because somewhere between dinner and laughter over shared stories, I met the person I never knew I was waiting for.
