The first time we met was when Kale was walking into my college apartment. My roommate was hosting a birthday party for her high school best friend, and Kale was the only guy in attendance. I shamelessly flirted with him, but he thought I had a boyfriend because he overheard me lovingly talk about my family dog - “I am going home for Thanksgiving to surprise him, I can’t wait”. Later, I asked our mutual friend if he had a girlfriend, and she convinced him to ask me on a date!

Kale went above and beyond to give me my dream proposal. He took me on a hike to “our tree” in Chewacla State Park and proposed in the most picturesque location. He even did a “dry run” with our photographer the night before to make sure everything went perfectly, and it did!

Since we are getting married in the Smith Family backyard, we got the chance to build part of our alter together. Such a special way to lay the foundation of our marriage!
