Carpool from hotel to wedding?

It's a 20-min drive from hotel to wedding, and the ceremony will start promptly at 5pm. We've confirmed that more than enough seats are available to carpool seatless folks to the wedding!

The pick-up location is the parking lot area closest to the restaurant (the gazebo behind the hotel).

For a ride, be there no later than 4:20!

What's the apple picking & picnic?

Join us for a picnic at Catoctin Mountain Orchard! Sandwiches will be served -- RSVP was just for a rough head count, so please feel free to join last-minute and at any time 12-4 :)

For those who are up for a sun-dappled wander, join Bill & Julia in the orchard! We'll be picking at least a bushel, which everyone will be welcome to harvest from at the wedding.

There is little to no shade at the picnic area. Please bring an umbrella, (light) rain or shine! We'll have plenty of sunscreen, so don't worry about carry-on.

In the event of (heavy/steady) rain, we will host the picnic at a conference room in the Hampton Inn -- see Lodging page for location.

What's to-do Saturday night?

The Bride & Groom will be going to downtown Frederick for "First Saturday" -- specifically, salsa dancing! See also "Things to Do" page.

How do I get to the area if I'm flying?

It is a one-hour drive to the following airports. Here are the alternatives to renting a car:

We recommend taking DC Metro to Shady Grove ($6), then Uber/Lyft from there (~$40). You can make MD bus or train work, but only on commuter timetables.
