Julia and Paul met in Miss Bettencourt’s 7th grade English classroom. The assigned seating chart put them sitting next to one another, which allowed them to grow close and learn about each other. Paul was going through his skater boy phase, after just transferring from a small Christian school in Ashland. He had a few close friends, but none were in this class. Julia was in competitive cheerleading and her main areas of focus was trying to be friends with the popular girls, only wearing clothes from Abercrombie and Hollister, and putting on as much makeup that she could get away with without her mom yelling at her.
Julia and Paul soon became very good friends and they both started looking forward to English class every day. Although it seemed like Julia would only want to vent about her problems with her current boyfriend at the time, Paul would always do anything he could to stand by her side of the story.
After many classes, Julia and Paul began messaging through AIM. They would spend hours upon hours talking about everything and anything into the late hours of the night. Julia and Paul began to date for the first time that year for a total of 48 hours, before Julia threw in the towel. They decided to go their separate ways but somehow still managed to talk every day, be best friends, and be each other’s support system for the next couple years.
Their dating journey then picked up again junior year of high school. After several written letters, countless amounts of phone calls, and thousands of text messages, their relationship seemed to be going well. It was all was fun and games until Paul realized jeeze this girl is A LOT of work and then decided to throw in the towel this time around.
As life shifted and they got older, their plans emerged. Julia ended up going to college at Westfield State, and Paul decided to go a different direction. They knew they had a long four years coming up and although they constantly talked about being with each other forever, they decided to remain friends and kept their fingers crossed that their paths would overlap in the future.
Paul came to visit Julia at Westfield State on her 21st birthday (the day after his 21st birthday) with hopes of getting their first legal drink together. Unfortunately, both were brutally hungover so instead of going out, Paul brought Julia the one thing that she really wanted, which was a cheddar bagel twist from Dunkin Donuts.
The following summer was when the two started rekindling their love for the third time. The third times always a charm. They spent many weekends down the cape on Pocasset where Paul would stay at the Wolfson’s house, which is only a mile down the road from Julia’s family’s house. They spent many summer days & nights together on the cape and that allowed them to bring back all the laugher and good memories they made while growing up. Of course, feelings arose at the time but neither of them mentioned this, as Julia's plan was to finish her final semester of school in Hawaii. Once Julia was 5,000 miles away in the middle of the ocean, she then decided this was a good time to confess her feelings for Paul. They knew long distance wasn't the right thing and decided to wait until Julia came home to see what the future had in store. At this time, Julia and Paul still talked on the phone daily without letting the 6-hour time difference interfere. They both went on a few dates but easily recognized there was no one else they would rather be with than each other.
Upon returning from Hawaii there was no holding back. Julia and Paul started dating again on May 11th, 2019, which has led them to their happily ever after. With a little bit of maturing on both sides, and a lot of growth, the two began their final love chapter.
Throughout all these years Julia and Paul knew they would one day get married and spend the rest of their lives together. The chemistry between them has always been so strong, their sarcastic remarks keep them laughing every day, and their hard work and dedication is what allows them to grow as a couple and conquer the world. As stubborn as they both can be at times, at the end of the day there is no one else they would rather spend the rest of their lives with.
Many people, friends, and family were a part of our story, and we thank you & appreciate everyone who has supported us and believed in us all these years!
