- Walking down Park Avenue.

Parkleigh is a fun shop to walk through.

Stevers Candies is a local chocolatier.

This is about a 3 min drive from the Strathallan Hotel and church.

- Visiting Rochester's Public Market.

Open on Saturday mornings, strolling through the vendors and artisan tents is always fun

Get an amazing croissant at Cure or a latte at Java's

Walk through Elements, a fun shop with trinkets and metal sculpture art

This is about 5 min drive from the Strathallan Hotel/church

- Walking on the Erie Canal at Schoen Place.

We like stopping for gelato at Artisan Gelato and Espresso or ice cream at Pittsford Farm Dairy.

The village of Pittsford is walkable from here and has several cute shops.

This is about a 3 min drive from the reception.

- Visiting Durand Eastman Beach and Park.

This place is special to us because it is where Ryan proposed.

Great spot to take coffee, walk along the beach in the morning, or cool off in Lake Ontario on a hot day.

There is a running/biking path along the beach.

Across the street from the beach is Durand Eastman Park, which is an easy loop hike around a small lake.

About 12min drive away from the Strathallan Hotel/church

- Walking around Cobb’s Hill reservoir or through Highland Park

Both are scenic parks near downtown Rochester, nice places to bring a coffee and stroll

About 8 min drive away from the Strathallan Hotel/church

Where to get a garbage plate

Picture of Where to get a garbage plate

- Dogtown – Julia’s favorite and has vegetarian options, http://dogtownhots.com/

- Nick Tahoe’s – the original restaurant to make the garbage plate https://garbageplate.com/

- Many restaurants in Rochester serve plates, including Genesee Brew House and Bill Grays

What is a garbage plate? aka “trash plate” or “plate”

This local street food is composed of your choice of cheeseburger, hamburger, Italian sausages, chicken fingers pulled pork, or white/red hots. This is served on top of any combination of home fries, french fries, baked beans, and/or macaroni salad. The plate is usually topped with “hot sauce”, which is a spicy meat sauce. Optional mustard and onions, and it is usually served with a side of buttered bread.
