The love story of Julia and Derek starts in the city of Eau Claire, WI. Julia, a UW-EC Student working on finishing her bachelors and Derek, working full time at a company called Jamf. Both in different parts of their lives, but both looking for love on the same dating app. After matching and chatting with one another, the first date was planned. Julia and Derek's first date was amazing! They had drinks and laughs, accompanied with many drinking stories, and the plan to see each other again was obvious. More dates gone by and Derek decided it was time to move to Minnesota not just anywhere in Minnesota though he moved the town over from Julia's hometown. COVID hit and Julia moved back to her hometown and Derek followed soon after. The two of them spent a lot of time together during the pandemic cooking meals, playing board games, and getting to know each other more. Derek decided that he wanted to build a house in the same area with his friend, George and so they did! Julia moved in with them a few months later. Within this time they spent a lot of time traveling together, throwing parties anytime they had a good excuse to, trying new hobbies, and creating memories together. After 4 years together Derek popped the question while they were glamping with a 360 degree view of the mountains. Julia was surprised and obviously said YES! And the rest is history!
