Our Wedding

The year is 2020, and the world is turned upside down. In the midst of, well, we all know by now, Xavia and Julia connected online (alright, over TikTok… it is ridiculous we know) over a shared love of their favourite show. This began a friendship where they bonded over sharing cultural differences, unique flora and fauna, and commiserating about the world of bartenders. Fast forward, shall we? In late August of 2021 Xavia and Julia realized that spending 12 hours a day on the phone together was probably a good indication they should just date. This led to three months of long distance dating, and a lot of online sleepovers. When the borders finally opened in November of 2021, Xavia worked with Julia’s brother Harry to surprise her with a visit. With an original plan of just visiting for a month or two, Xavia packed up a few suitcases and make his trek over to Canada. And the rest is history Well, that two month stay sure lasted a lot longer than two months, didn’t it? Xavia and Julia spent the next years growing together. In those years they have changed careers, continued higher education, graduated, and more than anything, they have learned what it means to grow together and support each other. In 2022 adopted their two beautiful babies (cats), Onigiri and Asura. Since 2021 the pair have moved three times, finally settling down in Nackawic, NB in 2023. Popping the Question In May of 2024 Xavia gifted Julia the most perfect birthday gift, a trip to New York City to see a long-time favourite musical of hers. He picked phenomenal seats, just a couple of rows back from the stage. And in July, the two took off. Well, after sleeping in their car until 5am when the airport opened. Little to Julia’s knowledge, the gift did not stop there. Upon landing in New York, Xavia tracked down Julia’s favourite pizza shop in the world. They adventured throughout the city, taking in as much as they could. Finally, the day of the show arrived. The pair got all dressed up and took the subway to Central Park to get some pictures before the show. Xavia led Julia to a beautiful location in front of Belvedere Castle. Hiding amongst the tourists was a photographer, ready to capture the moment soon to come. While Julia was changing out of her sneakers and into her heels, Xavia got ready for his final surprise. When Julia turned around, Xavia asked her the all important question, and the one that brought you to the website today. And with that, the rest is yet to come. Moving forward The next goals for the duo is to start the next chapter of their story, this time including plenty of travel! A road trip across Canada, a visit to the North West Territories, beach vacations in South America, adventures across Europe, you name it - they want to do it. We are so glad you are all a part of our story, and we look forward to including you all in our most important chapter yet. - Jules and X.
