What is "simcha dancing"?
Simcha means "joy" in Hebrew, so Simcha dancing is, simply put, joyous dancing! It is more common at an religious Jewish wedding to have a specific time set apart for festive dancing dedicated toward celebrating the bride and groom. During this time there will be Jewish music, and the dance floor will be separated with a mechitza. There will be lots of dancing throughout the night!
What is a "mechtizah" and when will it be used?
A mechitzah is a partition used to set a physical boundary between men and women. It's most commonly seen in religious Jewish settings in synagogue or for things like dancing at a wedding! We are choosing to have the mechitzah up during Simcha dancing to allow for all of our guests to celebrate with us. Dancing later in the evening will not have a mechitzah.
