We are so excited to celebrate with you! Love, Justin and Julia
We are so excited to have you coming to (the suburbs of) Detroit! We are having a fairly small wedding and do not have hotel blocks as more than half of our attendees are local and we are unable to secure small enough blocks! We want you to stay where you are most comfortable and are offering several options for different price points and areas of town.
The Kingsley Hotel is in Bloomfield Hills on Woodward Avenue. It is 24 miles (35 minutes) from our Friday welcome dinner at Cantoro in Plymouth. It is 22 minutes (10 miles) from Temple Israel, for our ceremony and reception on Saturday. It is 4 miles (10 minutes) to the brunch on Sunday morning.
The Kingsley is close to the Cranbrook Campus, which is a gorgeous place to walk and explore and is sure to be magnificent this time of year. We often go to the Japanese Gardens, wander around the art museum (make sure to walk out back -- it's beautiful) and meander around Cranbrook House.
The Townsend is a luxury boutique hotel in Birmingham. It is close to smaller luxury boutiques and shops, and is also within walking distance of Starbucks and quite a few other coffee shops, bars and restaurants. At Hazel’s we really love the oysters, the wrecking ball (an ice cream dessert), and the key lime pie. The Townsend and Daxton Hotels are also close to Somerset Collection in Troy for shopping and close to downtown Detroit if you feel like exploring the Eastern Market or Detroit Riverwalk on Saturday morning.
The Daxton Hotel is in central Birmingham and is the newest of the hotels we have on our list. Per their website, the Daxton is the luxury hotel with a provocateur's spirit and an artist's soul. The Daxton Hotel is 35 minutes (25 miles) from our welcome dinner on Friday night. It is 25 minutes (11 miles) from the wedding ceremony and reception at Temple Israel on Saturday. The hotel is located 16 minutes (7.5 miles) from the Sunday brunch.
