George and Julie's first encounter began in the summer of 2019 on an annual boat trip in Lake Geneva when they were randomly assigned to share a tube together. They had minutes to become cordially acquainted before they were challenged with the fight or flight response and the test of survival of the fittest. It was a beautiful sunny day, however, the waves were stronger than anticipated. George, ever the adventurer, in an effort to regain control and direction of the tube, almost gave Julie a concussion. When they reached the end of the boat trip, they laughed at their unexpected escapade not realizing this adventure would become a lifelong cherished memory.

As their story unfolded, so did the world around them. They met just before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when life seemed to stand still. But for George and Julie, it was a period of unexpected blessings. George found himself quarantined with Julie's family, turning what could have been a dull period into a time of amazing memories. This included power washing the outside of the Agaiby house, cutting down trees, repainting Julie's sister's (Leah) room, live streaming Holy Week that included a procession accompanied by the family dog (Cocoa) during The Feast of Resurrection liturgy.

Fast forward to a beautiful spring day in St. Louis, Missouri, where George decided to take the next step in their journey. Outside an art museum, surrounded by the beauty of nature, he got down on one knee. However, George, in the excitement of the moment, got on one knee twice – not because he was nervous, but because he momentarily forgot which pocket the ring was in.
