How It All Began

It all started with a little production back in 2012 called, "The Silver Whistle." In between rehearsals, Matt struck up a conversation with Julianna about a recent trip to Chicago. He learned that she had lived there for 2 years as a wedding singer. They began talking about their mutual love for the Windy City: food, museums, jazz, and the beautiful Chicago Theater where Matt had recently seen Jim Gaffigan. Their common interests then turned towards comedy. They learned that both of their fathers were pastors. (Not related to their mutual interest of comedy...of course.) The friendship was a very unique relationship; if you were to look at them through the lens of a third party, their interactions at times would seem hostile, violent, and often just flat out rude. There was no way these two contentious people could ever be friends, or in any sort of relationship with each other. But the truth was...they were best friends. They spoke openly and freely to each other about everything. The two of them continued their uniquely odd relationship of bickering and calling each other names for the public, but when no one was around, they would talk about their own relationships, religion, work, and whatever was irritating the other person at the moment. As their friendship grew over the years, so did their attraction (even though Matt already knew after their first conversation). They started dating in October of 2016. They were engaged on Easter Sunday of 2017. It didn't take long, once they started dating, for these best friends to realize they were supposed to be together. (Again, Matt already knew this from the beginning but SHE just took a little longer...4 years longer...but anyway…) And so, Matt and Julianna finally got their stuff together and made it happen and they lived happily ever after.
