What should I wear? Is there a dress code?
The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/ cocktail attire. Think cocktail dresses or a suit and tie or a sports coat
What will the weather be like this time of year?
It is hard to predict what the weather will be. Generally, the climate is moderate. However, in Virginia, the weather in October could be warm or cool. You might want to bring a jacket or warm layers in the event the weather is chilly. Also, an umbrella might be useful to get to and from the venue in the event rain is forecast.
Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?
Both the wedding ceremony and reception will be at the same venue: Fairview Farms, 1660 Ballsville Road, Powhatan, VA 231339. The barn and wedding pavilion are ADA accessible. Please note that if you have mobility issues, the wedding venue terrain might be a bit tricky to navigate using wheelchairs, walkers, canes or other accessibility aids.
Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony and reception will be taking place in an indoor setting.
What happens after the ceremony?
After the ceremony, the wedding party will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour. Guests can head straight to a cocktail hour (5:00 – 6:00 p.m.) where we will be serving hors d’oeuvres and beverages. A reception with dinner, drinks and dancing will take place from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m.
Am I invited to the rehearsal dinner?
Due to the space limitations of our venue, we unfortunately have to limit the rehearsal dinner guest list to those who will be playing a role in the ceremony. We apologize in advance to those who are not included. Please join us for the cocktail hour and reception following the ceremony.
How do I get to the wedding venue?
Chartered transportation will be departing The Residence Inn by Marriott Short Pump at the Notch hotel, 1800 Wilkes Ridge Circle, Richmond, VA 23233. The chartered transportation will be leaving no later than 3pm, to ensure everyone arrives timely.
You do not have to be staying at this hotel to take advantage of the transportation to the wedding venue. The shuttle will return to the hotel after the reception concludes at 10:15 pm.
What time should I arrive?
Help us get the party started as scheduled! We recommend that you arrive at least one-half hour before the start of the ceremony (by 4:00 p.m.) to make sure everyone is seated on time.
Where should guests park? Is parking free?
If you choose to drive to the event venue, follow the parking directions upon arrival. There is ample parking that directly backs up to the event space. Parking is free at the venue.
However, as previously stated, we will provide chartered transportation to/from the event from The Residence Inn by Marriott for our out of town guests. The buses leave the hotel at 3pm, so please meet in the lobby at 2:45pm.
Are kids welcome?
While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only (sixteen and older) event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the children at home so you can celebrate with us.
Can I bring a plus one?
Unfortunately, we have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our celebration is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your wedding invitation.
Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?
A block of rooms has been reserved under “Coleman/Fleetwood Wedding” at the Residence Inn by Marriott - Short Pump at the Notch. Please book your room before September 10, 2024. Please visit the “Travel and Accommodation” section of our wedding website for the link to book a Marriott room and alternative accommodation recommendations, if you opt not to take advantage of the discounted rates with the Marriott hotel room block.
There will be chartered buses that will take you from this hotel to the venue and back. Please be in the lobby by 2:45pm, for departure at 3pm
When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?
Thank you in advance for mailing your RSVP before August 12, 2024, using the envelope provided with your invitation.

Please visit the “Registry” section of our wedding website for information on the places we are registered and items on said registries.
Should I bring a gift to your wedding?
If you do choose to browse our wedding registry, any items on the list can be shipped directly to our home address. However, if you would like to bring your gift with you to the event, there will be a table for gifts and a box to put cards.

Yes! Check out the “Things to Do” section of our wedding website. This section includes recommendations for things to do while in town. In addition, the accommodations are closely located near the outdoor Short Pump Town Center mall, that has numerous shopping and restaurant options in and surrounding the mall.
