Parking and Entrance Information

There will be plenty of street parking on McKinley, Union, and Wells. However, guests may also park in the Muny parking lot behind the Jewel Box. Prepare to arrive early to ensure a good parking spot!

Due to the interior layout of the Jewel Box, the front entrance of the venue will be locked, and guests will enter in the back door on the opposite side of the fountain near the restrooms.

About The Couple

How They Met

While it is known to many, some of you may not know that Julie and Evan's story began in college, when their friends had urged them to download a dating app called Tinder. Neither Julie nor Evan thought much would come of using this app, maybe a couple of dates at most, but on January 4th, 2014, both them swiped right and it was a match! For the next few days, the two texted back and forth constantly, distracting one another from work and keeping each other awake way too late. With so much in common and so much chemistry over the phone, Julie and Evan decided to meet in person. After going back and forth deciding on a time for a date in their busy schedules, they decided they didn't want to put it off any longer, and the couple decided on a night in with a movie after work in the midst of a blizzard. The movie ended up being terrible, but the awful movie was more so a blessing than a curse, because Julie and Evan sat in the living room, ignoring the movie and Evan's trolling roommates (see wedding party), and talked until the sun came up. They talked about their interests, their goals, the past, the future and everything in between. It was a revelation for both of them, and a flaw in Julie's plan for a "single year". After that night, Julie and Evan were almost inseparable. They continued to text constantly, and hardly went two days without seeing one another. That Spring, Julie had to leave Columbia and move back to St. Louis, and even through that little bit of distance, their relationship thrived and strengthened. In 2015, when Evan finished school, he was fortunate to get a job teaching music in the Saint Louis area, and the couple took the next step moved into the apartment that they currently live in together.

The Proposal

In May of 2016, Evan and Julie went to Pigeon Forge, TN for a romantic getaway to the breathtaking Smokey Mountains. The couple stayed in a beautiful, serene cabin tucked away in the foothills of the Mountains. On Saturday, May 28th, after an incredible day of hiking through the park, Evan and Julie took their date back to the Cabin, where they made dinner and spent the evening opening up to one another and playing games. Both of them were still learning new things about the other. When this beautiful evening was winding down, Evan went to go clean a few things up and get Julie's phone from the car. When he came back inside, he had his guitar and began to play the first song they had ever danced to. (The song was was "1000 years" by Christina Perry. It was playing on the Piano Guys Pandora station when they were cooking in Evan's parents kitchen.) At the end of the song, Evan told Julie how much he had loved her, and that he wanted to spend the rest of his live with her. He asked her, "Will you marry me?" And of course, she said yes, with tears in her eyes!

Caroline is Julie's very best friend. The two of them have an incredible bond that was created over years and years of fond memories, some mild and some wild! Whether this duo is bitching over a night of wine and Pinterest or traveling the country on a whim, these two make the most of every memory and certainly live life to the fullest. Though things might not be as wild and crazy as they used to be as the two start families and grow up, these girls know they can always depend on one another, and they will remain friends until the day they die! Julie couldn't imagine anyone else by her side on her big day!

Bridesmaid

Melinda is like the sister Julie never had. Their friendship began freshman year of high school, and is honest, genuine, and sincere. No matter the distance or time since the last time they saw one another, they can pick up right where they left off, as if they spoke an hour ago. Julie knows she can come to Melinda with anything, and vice versa. Julie is truly lucky to have such an amazing woman standing by her side at her wedding!

Katie was Julie's college roommate during her final year at Mizzou, and this girl truly turned her college experience around for the better! Katie took what could have been a very dark year for Julie, and made it one of the best years of her life thus far. Through countless memories and new experiences shared together, These two became inseparable. If it weren't for Katie, it's very possible that Julie wouldn't have even had the confidence to put herself out there, and as a result, would not have even met Evan. Katie is such an important part of Julie's life, and she is grateful to have her by her side on her big day!

Caitlyn is nothing less than a ray of sunshine in Julie's life. As another one of Julie's former roommates during her last year at Mizzou, Caitlyn always made hard times easier and good times even more amazing. From shopping in her closet to venting in the car, Julie doesn't know how she could have survived that year without Caitlyn, and she certainly doesn't know how she would survive her wedding day without Caitlyn by her side.

Bridesman

Danny may not be a traditional bridesmaid, but Julie couldn't imagine her lineup any other way. Over the past few years Danny and Julie have created memories, shared countless laughs and created an incredible friendship. Danny has also become close friends with Evan, and the three of them share weekly dinner traditions that have become sacred. The only downfall to their relationship is that Danny may be racing Julie to the alter to marry Evan, but the fact that her future husband and best friend get along is enough for Julie! She can't wait to have Danny on her side at her wedding.

Best Man - David Salmo

David has been my best friend since 8th grade and almost like a cruel same aged brother. When I met him the year prior, I couldn't stand the guy, but after a choice encounter during a show and consequently double dating, he quickly grew on me and has been by my side through thick and thin ever since. From having to be friends long distance, living together, liking the same person that one time, and the times when I was just a stupid friend, he's smacked some sense into me, helped me out, and just always been super reliable. I couldn't be more honored to have him stand by side on this next big step in my life.

Groomsman - Sam Babel

Sam has had the pleasure of knowing me his entire life. That's all. Not really. Having Sam as a little brother has been a bit of a weird journey. We always played games togther, dorked out, and he was the target of relentless torment from Eric and me (as it should be) - you know, the perfect little brother. Now he's grown up(ish) and is a decent, working human being (kinda) in his own hipster-esque lifestyle. But for real, he is my best friend and a great brother. Thanks, kid.

Groomsman -  Eric Owen

Eric has literally been there for me my entire life. From adventuring in the little red corvette, to exploring the backyard creek without permission; from learning video games together, to fighting over the computer (along with many other things - cuz you know, brothers and stuff) he's always been there. Super protective too. Anytime something would happen to me, he was there to check up on me, make sure I was okay, beat up anyone who was giving me crap... He always looked (and probably still looks) out for me. He is truly the best big brother I could have hoped for and I'm so lucky to have him standing up there with me.

Groomsmaid - Meaghan Linn

Meaghan is the broest of bros and one of my best friends from Mizzou. From the beginning, it was a great friendship - literally starting with the words "Let's be friends." From there, we bonded and grew as friends and managed to head the most amazing joint event between our respective fraternities. She was my shoulder to lean on during one of the hardest parts in my life and now she is going to be there for the BEST day of my life!

Groomsman - Zachary Hendrickson

Hendrickson. Unlike those who were forced to know me (every other person in the wedding party), Hendrickson's was an immediate spiritual connection. He is known as my spirit beast - because we literally became friends in under 5 minutes upon meeting. He was Julie's friend first and has since become one of the best friends I could ask for. I'm so happy to have him up there with me :)
