Michael and Julie met in December 2012 when Julie accompanied a friend to the Norbeck Country Club employee holiday party where Julie’s friend and Michael both worked. Julie was invited at the very last minute when her friend’s date fell through. After an immediate attraction, Michael asked his manager to ask Julie if she wanted to work there. And so, Julie worked at Norbeck with Michael during her winter break from her freshman year at Towson University.

At work, they quickly figured out that their families are old friends! Michael’s dad Steve and Julie’s Uncle Mike have been best friends since high school. As a result, their parents also know each other well; Michael’s parents attended Julie’s parents’ wedding!

Julie and Michael started hanging out after work every time they worked together. When Julie went back to Towson for the Spring semester, they stayed in touch, and Michael started at Towson in Fall 2013. Julie tutored Michael in statistics that semester!

But, the timing just wasn’t right and they lost touch in early 2014. Their paths continued to cross, though, like when Julie saw Michael’s parents at her cousin’s wedding in 2017. There, Michael’s mom Fran commented to Julie’s mom Linda how cute she thought Julie would be with Michael - not knowing their history together!

When they finally reconnected almost five years later in late 2018, it was easy to pick up where they had left off. If you ask them now, they’ll admit they never forgot about each other.

Julie moved in with Michael in 2019. They rented in Rockville until they bought their first home together in Frederick in 2022 where they live with their two dogs, Zoey and Brody.

Michael proposed to Julie in November 2022 after a romantic dinner in downtown Frederick. The next day, they hosted their first Thanksgiving with both of their families.

Michael and Julie can’t wait to get married and start the next chapter of their lives together!
