The weekend of our wedding is also a huge nascar race weekend as well as Memorial Weekend so hotel rooms in the area will go fast. Please reserve your accommodations as soon as possible. Hilton is located across the street from our venue. Several other hotels are also located walking distance such as Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, and Aloft.

Hilton Charlotte Center City

Approximately 15 minute drive to Hilton. Directions to hotel: 7.5 miles west. Take airport extension freeway to Billy Graham parkway, I77 exit. Follow signs to 77 North to 277, John Belk Freeway. Exit off 277 at college street. Hotel is at the corner of college and 3rd street.Recommend taking taxi to hotel. No need to rent car as once arrive at hotel, everything you'll need is within walking distance. There is a also a city bus service ($1.75) from airport to uptown charlotte station which is about two blocks from hotel. We have not tried this so take at your own risk. :-)

Recommend ordering an Uber. Or to get a yellow taxi in Charlotte, call 704-444-4444. There are usually plenty of taxis to hail uptown.

Speed Street is a festival that transforms the streets of Uptown Charlotte with live musical entertainment, NASCAR driver appearances, and exhibits. Several street blocks are blocked off May 21-23 for about 400,000 attendees. The festival is open from noon to midnight each day. Easy walk from the Hilton--go check out before the wedding for music and street food. If running is your thing, think about registering for the Speed Street 5K which occurs May 23rd at 8am.

Coca Cola Speed Street

The U.S. National Whitewater Center offers a variety of outdoor activities including whitewater rafting and kayaking, flatwater kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, rock climbing, zip lines, ropes courses, a canopy tour, and mountain biking. They often have live music and festivals. Memorial weekend they will be having a relay race and trail race. If you are feeling adventurous, this is the place to visit!

U.S. National Whitewater Center

The epicentre is a city block of adult fun with restaurants, bars, and other entertainment including a movie theater and bowling alley. It is a one block walk from the hotel. Ben and I love going to StudioMovieGrill to eat and watch a movie. We also like Vida for tacos and margaritas.
