Denver is the closest airport to fly into, and about 1.5 hour drive to Summit County.

We would recommend getting a rental car, as the travel to Summit county is 1.5 hour drive. However, there is also the Bustang, which is an affordable bus option. If you’re looking for a beautiful & quick detour, take Loveland pass as it takes you up to the continental divide and you’ll have 360 degree views of gorgeous mountains!

There are free buses around Summit County called the Summit Stage. Uber/Lyft is EXTREMELY limited.

If choosing an Airbnb or VRBO, We would suggest booking in Silverthorne, Dillon, Keystone, or Frisco Colorado! These are close to our venue and great areas to set up a home base and explore Summit County!

Summit county sits at 9,000 feet, and our wedding will be even higher at 11,500 feet, so if you’re coming from sea level, we recommend taking it easy and staying hydrated during your stay! You may feel the effects of the altitude- like shortness of breath, mild fatigue, headache, or trouble sleeping-especially on the first day. We recommend giving yourself some time to acclimate! Alcohol can affect you more quickly at higher elevations, 1 drink at altitude = about 2 drinks at sea level! We recommend drinking extra fluids and electrolytes to help prevent symptoms! If you’re concerned about altitude sickness, you may want to consult your primary care doctor about taking Diamox, a medication that can help prevent symptoms of altitude sickness at higher elevations. Additionally, consider staying a night in Denver to acclimate before heading up to the higher elevation for the wedding! Feel free to reach out and we will help in any way we can!
