The South Bend Airport (SBN) will be the most convenient option for flying into South Bend, with only a 10-15 minute drive to downtown South Bend or the Notre Dame campus! However, it is a much smaller airport with fewer direct flight options. We recommend booking early for the best prices and flight availability. Car rental options are available on-site, and shuttle service is available to the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel South Bend (call ahead).

You can expect more affordable, and a larger variety of flight options to/from the Chicago O'Hare airport (ORD). While this appears to be a 1.5 hr drive to South Bend, traffic and construction are prevalent, so a 2+ hour commute to South Bend is more realistic.

- Charter bus options may be available through Coach USA or Greyhound (Chicago bus station to South Bend Transpo). The most up-to-date recommendations can be found on the ORD's regional busses and shuttles webpage.

- The South Shore Line is an affordable (<$20) commuter train that connects from the South Bend Airport (SBN) to downtown Chicago, but not directly to the Chicago airports. Some construction/upgrades may affect timeliness, so this option is only recommended if you're up for an adventure and have some flexibility with your travel day!

Chicago Midway (MDW) is intermediate in size to the South Bend Airport (SBN) and Chicago O'Hare (ORD). This airport is just south of Chicago proper, but the commuting time to South Bend is comparable.
