It was in early 2019 that Jeremy first found himself at Kobe Express. He'd been slowly trying all the local eateries in Waynesville and was looking to try something new. The waitresses were all immediately intrigued by this unique individual who seemed so out of place when compared to the regular patronage. All of them except the restaurant manager, Julie; who preferred to keep herself busy making sure everything was running smoothly. Over the next several months Jeremy would come to frequent Kobe, often staying to write letters after a meal and getting to know the staff.

It was during the Summer of 2019 when Jeremy started hosting themed parties at his historic home, The Waynesville Conservatory. The most notorious of which was the 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing. It was "the" summer event, and it seemed everyone was in attendance. The waitresses at Kobe, to whom Jeremy had become quite close, finally convinced their manager Julie to come out with them for a night of celebration. This was the first time Julie attended one of Jeremy's events, and her first time at the Conservatory.

Over the next few months Julie and Jeremy became very good friends. They bonded over similar life experiences and spent countless evenings watching their mutually favorite sitcom, Parks and Recreation, in the Conservatory Library. By October though Jeremy was deep into planing a Halloween Haunted Circus even. Julie was eager to help and they spent almost every night for three weeks straight building props, painting signage, stringing lights, and preparing for what they imagined would be quite the party.
The event was a hit! Everyone was thrilled beyond imagine, but afterwards Julie and Jeremy found they'd grown quite accustom to one another and continued to find reasons to spend time together. They would later agree in retrospect that their first date was on Halloween night, an 80's themed party at their favorite bar Mad Anthony's.

In late 2019 a tenant vacated the Roosevelt Stateroom of the Conservatory. This seemed like the perfect time to give the room a much needed refit; so Julie and Jeremy set out on what would be the first major house project they would work on together. In what would become a reoccurring theme, the project was met with a handful of snares and complications, but they couldn't have been more pleased with how it turned out! Naturally Julie decided it was her new bedroom.

It was also during 2020 that Julie and Jeremy began taking advantage of the beautiful mountains surrounding Waynesville. Hikes became frequent during these times; and of course, just because they were in the wilderness didn't mean Julie had to go without her pasta!

The year 2021 brought incredible expansion to the Waynesville Conservatory's archive of antiques. Julie and Jeremy spent many miles on the highway traveling to pick up an array of spectacular finds. Thousands of antique leather books, a full size library card catalog, Many unique chairs and tables, and perhaps the most incredible in terms of transport, a eight foot tall Eastlake Pier Mirror that pushed Jeep interior storage to its limit, they were determined they could pickup anything without a truck.

After Ireland, Julie and Jeremy headed to Italy for a ten day journey across Julie's ancestral land. They visited Naples, Florence, and Rome; but it was in Florence when Jeremy proposed.
They had wanted to take pictures around Florence, particularly the Duomo, without thousands of other people spoiling their photos. So they rose at 5 am and had a fun photoshoot around the Cathedral. It was during this time, when they had all the beauty of Florence to themselves, that Jeremy went down on one knee and asked Julie to marry him. And after months of anticipation, Julie's only utterance through tearful happiness was "are you serious?" Jeremy is still not sure he ever heard a yes, but he was certain the sentiment was unmistakably felt.
