It was Friday night in the Summer of 2020 and Corey and I decided to go to Asbury Park. After having dinner, getting ice cream on the boardwalk and walking along the beach Corey suggested that we could get a drink at this gin distillery nearby.

The gin distillery is next to Wesley Lake and on our way there Corey and I sat down at a bench next to the lake. At one point, I started to tell Corey how I cleaned out my closet earlier that day and I found this box where I had kept momentos from the very beginning of our relationship back in March 2017 until now. We talked about these memories such as our cruise cards, festival tickets, our Belmont Stakes triple crown winner tickets and even a movie ticket stub from our first date in NYC!

We had been there a while and I eventually stood up from the bench and suggested we head to the distillery but Corey lingered and wanted to sit down for a little while more. I said okay, but thought it was odd.

A few moments later I felt a tap on my knee. When I turned around Corey was on his knee asking me to marry him!

P.S. We never made it to that distillery (it was closed!)
