Daniel and Julie met in July of 2018. It wasn’t necessarily a “love at first sight” scenario, but a story they love to share. Daniel prides himself on 2 P’s: patience and persistence. When they first met, it wasn’t the “right time,” but looking back it’s evident that God’s plan was perfectly laid out for their relationship to begin at the very best time for both of them. In hindsight, Julie realizes that Daniel did the best he could to get her attention when they were hanging out in the same friend group, though. Daniel had his own funny ways of working himself into Julie’s memories during those times, like mooning her in the pool the first night they met. About a year later, Daniel decided that then was the time to “shoot his shot” when they were at a 4th of July party. Julie hesitated at first (because all she knew of this boy is that he was quick to show people his butt at parties), but the patience and persistence mentioned above paid off. It only took Julie a few dates to quickly realize that Daniel was someone she wanted and needed in her life.

Their 4 years of dating were full of long distance and weekend trips to spend time together. Through various moves, Julie and Daniel enjoyed spending time in the cities they lived, including St. Louis, Champagne, Springfield, and Macomb. Starting out with a long distance relationship has made moving into their new home a really sweet experience. Julie and Daniel bought their first home together and moved in March 2024.

A full circle moment arose when Daniel proposed to Julie on the 4th of July in 2023. Believe it or not, Daniel was able to pull it off without Julie having a clue (Julie had thought it was coming a couple of weeks prior during a small weekend trip to STL). Daniel planned out a fun gathering after the proposal with many of their favorite people. Little did Julie know, that odd guy that showed her his bare butt on the night they met would be the man she would vow to spend her life with. Life is definitely funny sometimes.

They are so excited to celebrate with all of you on November 2nd and even more excited to see what this life together will hold!
