Late senior year of high school, Peter and Julie started to talk to each other states away while COVID-19 took the world by storm. Even though they had never met, they were still each other's go to when they needed someone easy to talk to. Later down the road over the summer that same year, they both happened to be on campus at the same time without knowing. They got to train together and only exchanged a "hello." Later that week they parted ways and stayed in touch until seeing each other again at Olivet Nazarene University during move in weekend. They shared company together during the first weeks of school with their swim teammates. Once school started to pick up, they started to go to the library together along with other teammates which randomly made them love studying the most boring courses. Knowing her love for snacks, Peter would even tell Julie about the snacks that he was bringing to study to try and win her over. As the year went on, the size of their studying company continued to dwindle down until they got to have study dates every evening and into the closing hours of the library. Later in the semester they intentionally found a couple of times to hang out together with other mutual friends so that they could go on dates together, but without the pressure. Peter enjoyed the low pressure hangouts so much that he eventually found an opportunity to take Julie on an evening cruise since he knew that they both enjoyed golden hour drives.
*Fast forward to Christmas break*
It came time to go to their own homes for the break, but they couldn't stay apart for too long. Julie had Peter over to visit before they started dating. Peter got to formally meet her parents, it went really well. The relationship between him and her parents started to blossom. Later in the winter, in January they finally started dating and the rest is history.
