Fashion & Attire
What should I wear to the welcome reception?
The welcome reception is held at an indoor venue where you can choose to play pickleball and games (i.e. shuffleboard, corn hole) or simply enjoy the evening of food, fun, and festivities. If you choose to play pickleball, we ask that you wear appropriate shoes and athletic attire. If you are there to dance and party, wear anything your heart desires! Dress code will span from fun dresses to athletic attire for girls and from sport coats to athletic shorts for guys. In other words, you can't go wrong!
What should I wear to the wedding & reception?
Our dress code for the wedding and subsequent reception is black tie. We kindly ask that women wear long, floor-length gowns and men wear tuxedos (solid black suits with black ties/bowties are acceptable). September in Boston will either be in the 80s or slightly chilly. We recommend bringing a shawl or coverup. Coats will not be necessary! Ladies: the bridesmaid dress color is champagne -- just in case you don't want to match!
What should I wear to the Newlywed Brunch?
Our attire is "Cowgirl and Cowboy Chic." Envision: jeans, boots, and a festive blouse or button-up. If you would wear it to a Fort Worth Stock Show or the Houston Rodeo, you're on the right path. You can fully lean into the theme, or you can show up simply for some yummy breakfast. We won't judge!
Travel & Lodging
How do I get to Boston?
Boston Logan Airport is the closest and most convenient airport. Ubers are incredibly accessible in Boston and reasonably priced. Public transportation via the Metro line is also available from the airport.
Do I need to rent a car?
Ubers and Lyfts are incredibly accessible and reasonably priced in Boston. Unless you are staying in an Airbnb or Hotel more than 10 miles away, we do not recommend renting a car. We will provide bus transportation on Saturday for all wedding festivities from both the Hyatt Regency and the Harvard Club of Boston. Parking at the Cathedral is not easily accessible. If you need to drive, please drive to the Harvard Club and park there before boarding a bus to the Cathedral.
Where should I book my hotel room?
We have several hotel blocks (please see the "Travel" tab). If you do not wish to stay in those hotels, you can also look at the Langham Hotel, the Newbury, the Eliot, the Hilton Doubletree Boston-Cambridge, or the Studio Allston (just to name a few)! There are many Airbnb options in the area for those wishing to share a house with their friends.
Gifts & Cards
May I bring gifts to the reception?
We thank you in advance for your generosity! If you prefer to bring gifts to the reception, you may do so. Due to travel, however, we suggest mailing gifts to our new address in Houston. All registry items are automatically sent to our address. If you are purchasing a gift not on our registry, please contact us for our address!
May I bring cards to the reception?
Absolutely! We will have a card box available for all cards brought during the reception. This, however, is completely optional. We love all the notes sent directly through our registry.
Miscellaneous
Are children allowed at the ceremony and reception?
We love all of our friends' children, but unfortunately we are very tight on space for our reception. We will not be able to provide high chairs or additional chairs for children. We wish we had room for every little one, but sadly the fire marshal has enforced a strict capacity limit. Thank you so much for understanding!
What should we do Saturday morning?
