In 2019 Jerry and Julissa met at their alma mater, California State University Chico. Julissa was studying liberal studies and Jerry was studying concrete industry management. They both worked on campus, where all students come together at least once, the Meriam Library.

While Jerry was standing behind a counter checking books out for students, Julissa was checking out his mustache from around the corner. They both began bumping into each other frequently and it wasn't long until they both became friends. Julissa being the extrovert that she is, initiated many conversations over that same counter.

Unfortunately both split ways after graduation in 2020 and went back to their hometowns, Jerry in Los Angeles and Julissa in Olivehurst.

A whole year later Jerry accepted a concrete management job back up in northern California, Sacramento. It must have been fate because Julissa simultaneously moved to northern Sacramento in Natomas entering her first year of teaching 3rd grade. Being only minutes away, both rekindled their friendship by catching up on what they have been up to since they last met and eventually sparked a new flame in their relationship. After a month of dating, Jerry asked Julissa to be his girlfriend on September 24, 2021.

From that day forward, Jerry and Julissa were inseparable. Their love grew stronger with each passing day, and they spent every waking moment together. Eventually, they found their forever home in Woodland, California, a place where they could build their future together. It was in their backyard that Jerry proposed to Julissa, sealing their bond forever.

Un año después, Jerry aceptó un trabajo administrativo concreto en el norte de California, Sacramento. Debe haber sido el destino porque Julissa se mudó simultáneamente al norte de Sacramento en Natomas y comenzó su primer año como profesora de tercer grado. A solo unos minutos de distancia, ambos reavivaron su amistad al ponerse al día con lo que habían estado haciendo desde la última vez que se vieron y finalmente encendieron una nueva llama en su relación. Después de un mes de noviazgo, Jerry le pidió a Julissa que fuera su novia el 24 de septiembre de 2021.

A partir de ese día, Jerry y Julissa fueron inseparables. Su amor se hizo más fuerte cada día que pasaba y pasaban juntos cada momento del día. Finalmente, encontraron su hogar definitivo en Woodland, California, un lugar donde podrían construir su futuro juntos. Fue en su patio trasero donde Jerry le propuso matrimonio a Julissa, sellando su vínculo para siempre.
