Our Story

Picture of Our Story

Justin: Hanna and I met at Ave Maria University in November of 2022. We were adventurous and both tried out speed dating. I was really just doing it for fun, going with the boys - Joe and Christian. I told them that it was a win-win situation, because you either get to talk to girls or make a great connection (lol)! And so, towards the last half of speed dating, I sat down at Hanna's table. The first thing that caught my attention was her eyes and we had a great time getting to know each other. Of course, this event was short, but we got time to know each other just a little bit in our two minutes together. Afterwards, Hanna was one of the three girls that I was interested in pursuing and continuing to get to know, but before I could even make the choice, she came running up to me and asked if we could continue talking! The day after, we got coffee and continued to stay in touch over FaceTime. Now, here we are today - two peas in a pod, goof and all, and getting ready to celebrate and enter into the sacrament of marriage together. Pray for us – we will pray for you.

Hanna: When I met Justin at the RA Speed Dating event, I was struck by the light, joy, and intentionality of his face. He was a mystery to me, and I wanted to find out more about him! When we spoke after this event, I realized that he didn’t even attend AMU as a student but worked full time as an electrician all the way in Illinois. In our initial meeting, I also discovered that along with his joy and goofiness, he was a man after God’s heart. I remember praying afterward in the chapel and told Jesus “Lord, thank you for allowing me to meet this man. The likelihood of me seeing him again is slim. But Lord, if it’s your will, I’d like to see him again. You brought him all the way from Illinois – I know you can bring him back.” Since that moment, God began to map out our journey towards our vocation with joy, hope, and perseverance. We have had our trials, especially since we will have been long distance for most of our relationship, but we are confident that God will continue to grant us His grace as we prepare to embark on our new journey as husband and wife. We pray that our love will be a witness to God’s love – a love that knows no bounds, that continually surprises us and challenges us, and that forges charitable bonds for our good and the good of the whole world.
